Europes model was based off of empires, America's was based off of immigration. Obviously they couldn't sustain themselves as individual world powers once they had thrown off their empires, and only had their national markets alone to sustain the country. They never had huge populations, and as national markets only they can only maintain their dominance by joining together in a common market, the EU. Are you saying that they should have forced their empires into submission to maintain their position as world powers?

Are you saying that conservatives are fighting to maintain empires?

And it is radical conservatives like you who will bring America down. America's economic growth has slowed greatly since conservative took the helm, and we're about to fade into obscurity because of conservatives.

Not to mention that PMP's argument "LOL what's a Portuagla?!" is essentially arguing that her ignorance of basic geography means that Socialism has destroyed europe.

I guess you could say that socialism destroyed Europe, in a way, because most of the socialist parties coming into power shrugged off empires that the conservative parties were desperate to hold onto.

But the primary reasons individual european nations aren't world powers anymore is 1. Because everyone else is moving ahead too and 2. lack of empires.

Gay marriage isn't going to change that.

I would say the primary reason is that they have no purchasing power.....does anyone care what a person in Iceland wants to buy?......and soon, since we will all be paupers on the government dole, nobody will care what Americans want to buy......we will buy what Chinese and Indian consumers crave, because that's who the marketplace will produce for.....

And, does anyone care what a person in the EU wants to buy? You should compare trade blocks of similar size. Comparing Iceland to America is like comparing Rhode Island to the EU.

There's nothing to debate. The video speaks for itself. It's not parliamentary procedure to shout down the opposing congress member when they're speaking.
