They say that history is written by the winners.

If the republicans successfully create the culture that they seek, history will be about as literal as the bible that they claim to adore.
This is the reason why I so virulently disrespect a moderate attitude toward liberalism or conservatism.
Moderation is surrender from the perspective of both sides.

Very true...but what could be more important than life skills? Making our children more bigoted/racist isn't going to benefit anyone.... Our history classes are just fine...my HS has offered African American History electives for decades....Our school system has an Afrocentric HS if a student wants to focus on primarily black studies....If people want options, get the system to offer them...

Wrong again. Teach it,....but teach it accurately. Leaving out the part about how Africans first became slaves is not only unjust but ignorant. Start the story at the beginning,...NOT AT THE MIDDLE.

So we teach the slavery in the bible too? Do we teach Egyptian slavery? Do we teach slavery among African tribes? Our slavery is not predicated on ancient slavery. it was ours and we are responsible for what we did. The north had much less slavery. We had choices and made cruel and unnecessary ones.

But its not ancient you uneducated imbecile. Where did we in America get our slaves? We bought them from AFRICAN SLAVE TRADERS who attacked fellow Africans and enslaved them. Why cant you admit what anyone who has actually read history already KNOWS?

Just how the fuck does the fact that they may have been enslaved by blacks excuse those who brought them to this country and treated them like animals? It doesn't. Teaching about slavery in this country has nothing to fucking to do with where they came from.

The truth is the black person in this country was originally a slave and treated that way. Where the fuck he came from does not excuse that.

It's one of the strangest defenses for American slavery I've seen.

It's like people trying to excuse the Holocaust by citing a previous genocide.

Never said it did. Again,.....teach TRUE history, tell the WHOLE story like we do with anyone else.

If you are teaching American history you don't start with Egypt. Not to mention that every american history class teaching about slavery is going to tell you how they got here, you must have missed that part. Just what difference does it make what the color of the fucking people were that rounded them up? Sure they were just as guilty as those transporting them is that supposed to be an excuse for slavery in this country?
