If I were a Chinese military strategist...what I would be advising the military is to send out two/three of those balloons every day. No equipment...except maybe some scrap metal designed to look like a tech payload as ballast. The balloons, at most, would cost a couple hundred bucks to manufacture and launch. The missiles used to shoot them down cost $500,000.

Our guys would get GREAT target practice. But the cost would be staggering.
 
Gee,...if the balloon is no big deal I wonder why the old balloonhead himself ordered it shot down? You see how fucking stupid some of you are like Jarod? You try to play things both ways but dont have the horse power up stairs to pull it off. You end up just looking stupid.

The balloon had solar panels an electric motor a propeller and a steerable rudder. The missile was about 320K
