The beginning of the universe is the origin. The Big Bang is the process (evolution) that forms the universe, galaxies and such. The evolution on Earth is the process of how life grows.
The origins are not needed.

ID as a scientific theory is laughable and correctly slapped down by the courts.

ID as a ontological belief system seems perfectly reasonable to me. Absent any tangible data, the idea that the cosmos results from a higher organizing principle beyond human cognition is just as likely as the idea that an ordered, mathmatically structured, and finely-tuned universe just popped into existence for no conceiveable reason.

Intelligence Is Derived From "Select Between"

There is always a forbidden Third Way. Intelligent self-design is not even being allowed to be discussed. That means that evolution proceeded through wise individual choices and not by chance.

The question of how did it first get started and where did it come from does not necessarily imply that one supernatural Being created all original intelligence. It's authoritarian and anti-individualistic to automatically assume that was what had to have happened.
