As always the swamp media blames the GOP for not raising the debt ceiling but the real villains are the dems who cause inflation by printing up trillions of dollars in freebies to buy votes.

jan 13 2023 The White House on Friday called for the debt limit to be raised without conditions, laying down a marker ahead of what is likely to be a bruising fight with House Republicans in the coming months.

“We believe, when it comes to the debt limit, it has been done in a bipartisan way over the years and decades. And it should be done in a bipartisan way. And it should be done without conditions. That is important here,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.

Jean-Pierre’s comments came shortly after Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen wrote to Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to warn the U.S. is projected to reach its roughly $31.4 trillion borrowing limit in less than a week, and the department would have to soon begin taking “extraordinary measures” to buy time for Congress to avoid default.

Those measures would likely buy lawmakers until early June to reach a deal, Yellen said.

really ignorant people will forget that we voted AGAINST spending the money......that damage is already done........but here's a thought......a good compromise might be to wipe out the money to hire those 87,000 IRS auditors.....we haven't spent that yet.......I wonder if there's anymore of that money that was voted on three weeks ago that hasn't been spent yet......shucks they probably haven't even gotten around to reading the budget they voted on yet, what with holiday vacations and all.......

Post industrial American is a house of cards. It's essentially a Ponzi scheme or a stock scam. If you make nothing, your economy is based on nothing--it's an illusion and nothing more.

The deindustrialization of America would not have taken place under socialism.
It is entirely a product of American Free Enterprise.

Corporate executives moved their manufacturing overseas for short term profits, and in so doing, effectively brought down our nation.
They had the "FREEDOM" to do so. They had no rules. It was pure American capitalism.

But AssHat, it's too late to worry about globalization now. The horse is out of the barn. America is fucked, and the world knows it.

A single, planet-wide socialist government may be humanity's best chance, now, NOT because it's a good idea but because we may have left ourselves no choice.
And it will probably be Chinese people running it. They seem to be the ones with the brains.
I'm glad that I won't likely live to have to see it.

If we don't buy foreign-made things, we'll have nothing to buy at all because we no longer make jack shit domestically.
We've disemboweled our production capacity. The damage is done. Selfish capitalism has destroyed America.

The destruction of America is a fait accompli,

The money that it would cost to reindustrialize America has already been spent--in China.
The America that was forced, through being attacked, to join Stalin to defeat fascism in World War II no longer exists.
That industrial superpower is gone.

It was sold for short term profits. That sacrilege became the American Way.

an emphasis on corporate quarterly reporting instead of overall longterm economic improvement and american independence is a flaw, but that can be corrected within a capitalist framework.
