The teachers unions are blaming the dismal scores on covid which doesn't explain why whites and asians are still able to pass.

dec 27 2022 Following an embarrassing batch of post-pandemic test scores, education bureaucrats are working hard — not to help students pass their graduation exams but to eliminate them as a requirement to graduate.

In New York, a petition calls on state education leaders to “decouple” the Regents exam from its graduation requirements on the grounds that too many poor and minority students fail the test.

The sponsoring organization, Advocates for Children, has landed on the wrong solution to a very real problem: Poor and minority students are suffering in the current education system. But the right answer is to help them learn rather than hand them a meaningless diploma.

New Mexico’s high school class of 2024 will not be required to pass an exam to graduate, though they still must sit for the test. Officials at the state’s Public Education Department justified their decision based on the pandemic, and the state’s American Federation of Teachers president praised the move.

Oregon, an early adopter of the pandemic excuse, enacted a law in the summer of 2021 temporarily suspending its requirement for graduates to pass state math, reading, and writing tests. This may soon become a permanent policy: In September, the Oregon Department of Education issued a review of state proficiency requirements, in which it recommended eliminating a state-level essential skills test as a requirement to graduate.

New Jersey’s graduation test requirement is also on the chopping block. The test will be administered for the class of 2023, but a passing score is not required. In early December, progressives testified against existing requirements at several grade levels, with a teacher’s union official calling out “structural and systemic racism” in the current testing scheme as the pretext.

I saw an IQ test once that was pointed in the knowledge that minorities have that the whites do not even know. Blacks buried whites in that test. They live quite different lives than you do. They know things you do not in that separate life. They are not dumber or less honest than whites. Poor whites have the same crime rates. When you cannot get a job that you can survive on, you need to do other things to get by. Minorities sell drugs. We know where the massive profits go, straight up to the whites.

Trouble is we can't bring blacks up to standard. The average black IQ is 65 which means most can never even learn how to read no matter how hard we try to teach them. Like trying to teach a dog how to read.

It’s like the children in Alaska communities, they have not done well on standardized test in the past, but that by no means makes them ignorant, they just have a different lifestyle from those who live in cities.

That's what you libs always say. The tests are written by white people for white people. So why do asians do great on the tests?
 
I really don't care what goes on in other states. I live in Texas, and pay my school taxes here locally in Dallas County.

I know we test our High School Students here in this state with SAT, ACT, And PSAT/NMSQT.

And this goes back to when I Graduated High School in 1969, where I passed the equivalency of a 4-year college entry level exam. In other words, after passing the test, I was ready to enter any 4 year college without having to take a special College Entry Exam. And the same thing goes for all of my Grand Children that have graduated High School here.

SO, I hope you aren't trying to make me upset about how other states are testing their High School students- when it is none of my business and I don't care what other states do.

These tests have the Bi-partisan support of our state legislators.

We are stripping the public educational system and fortifying charter schools and private schools. The point is clear. The wealthy do not want to support a good educational system. They have no cares about the lower class. I am sure Text would be at the bottom. I do not want to think such overt bigotry and hate come from a person with over 70 IQ.

Several universities now have about one bureaucrat for each student, with no end to the expansion of the bloat to be seen......public schools have the same problem.....which is why the WOKE indoctrination centers are so expensive to run.

I thought Texas uses the STAAR test program. I don't think schools use the SAT/ACT for graduation. Many colleges have dropped SAT for admission.

HAHAHA. This moron doesn't even understand the issue of this thread. IT'S NOT ABOUT WHAT TEST THEY USE!!! The problem is they aren't using any test.!!! So all the blacks graduate even though can't read or add up a column of numbers.
