I don't believe in asking American soldiers to risk dying for people who refuse to defend themselves. We trained the Afhan National Army for 20 years, and they faded away without firing shot.

The American military is not available to the whims of foreigners for mercenary hire. If Afghanistan concerns you so much, get your own Thailand army to invade and occupy the country.

Akhundzada, who has not been filmed or photographed in public since the Taliban returned to power in August last year, rules by decree from Kandahar, the movement's birthplace and spiritual heartland.

The Taliban promised a softer version of the harsh rule that characterised their first stint in power, from 1996-2001, but have gradually clamped down on rights and freedoms.

No US military had died for several years, stop bullshitting. The brunt of the fighting was performed by the Afghan Army and Air Force. Funny how you save all your compassion for only white people not brown.

The Taliban were on the verge of being reasonable and in consideration of Western values. Klepto Joe Biden stole their assets and handed them out to his donor pals.
Thousands of Afghans died without care or medicine.

I have not seen any recent reporting but soon after the Taliban retook the nation they said that their policy is that anyone who does not like living in the deWesternized Afghanistan should leave, they are not wanted. Much like Kathy Hochul said to New York citizens and illegals.

This is a fucking terrible situation, and personally, I support women throughout the Middle East and that general region, and worldwide. The conditions for many of them is repugnant. But in no way do I think American troops should have stayed there another decade, or 2 decades. That's not the job of America.

The kind of change the countries like Afghanistan need generally has to come from within. The movement there has started, and is growing in strength. Eventually, it will hit critical mass - like it has in other countries where women have more rights.

Even in America, we're still not "there." There isn't really a comparison, but calling rights and conditions for the sexes equal in the U.S. would be a lie.
