CONSPIRICY to Defraud the Untied States

Trump basically ordered MAGAs to riot in the streets if there were ever a criminal referral.

I wonder how many of the MAGAs on this forum are locked and loaded and takin' it to the streets? Or are they all just sitting at home or work typing on their keyboards and phones?

Germany at least put Hitler in jail for a while for a similar incident

Whether you like it or not, in two weeks the Jan 6 committee is no more. Gone, done, finished, disbanded. Everything to date they've done likely ends up in a paper shredder. This isn't some defense of Trump, it's factual reality. The Republicans take control of the House. A third of the members on the committee are no longer in Congress, and others, like Schiff are likely stripped of all committee membership.

Those are facts, not opinions.

Do you really think the DoJ will move in the next 14 or so days--over Christmas and New Year--to do anything with what this committee sends them? The committee might as well wrap the whole thing up in masses of red tape.

I also suspect the DoJ, FBI, and other agencies of the administration will be quite busy next year trying to explain away or hide what they've been doing on a wide range of fronts. While that part is opinion, I can see it happening.

Just sayin'...

NO, actually as of today the committee is over, they completed their work today.

God save our nation if the Department of Justice does not prosecute Trump.

If the DOJ does not indict and prosecute Trump, it would be a travesty of justice?!! It would set a very bad precedent too, that a former president and his enablers are above the law too?!! It also means, what Trump and his cronies tried to do is alright and is without consequences too?!!

Of course, you can. just saying something stupid. The Committee presented evidence and described an involved plot Trump had to overthrow America. I am sure the Mccarthys will have as much evidence against Biden. You might believe it, but in fact, nothing like this has happened since the 1930s when other Repubs tried to take over the country.

Is the "Conspiracy to defraud the United States" pertaining to the false electors?

I'm sure the diehards here will still scream fake news or whatever the latest catchphrase is. Stupid is forever.

I don't think so. That should be a state issue.

Just how useful to a prosecutor is cherry picked evidence submitted without cross examination or adversarial questioning? That's what the Jan 6 committee is submitting. There was no defense presented. There was no cross examination. All the evidence was cherry picked.

Of course there was no defense, every trump official took the 5th amendment when questioned. Every one was asked for proof of a fraudulent election and they said nothing. There was also no cross examination because there GOP chose not to pout any of its members on the committee.

If that is what this is, Justice should not indict, but I suspect that this is more than that.

And they are referrals with no legal standing. This is just a bunch of dumb fuck politicians pandering to the stupid.

MAGAs here generally are not capable of forming original, independent thoughts, so there is always a MAGA time delay in responding coherently to a thread like this. They have to wait and see what their favorite rightwing media personalities have to say.

Fascinating, Doctor. I think perhaps you should write a paper on this phenomenon.

Interesting that you want to put a time limit on when the DOJ might act. Why's that? Having an (R) majority House doesn't affect what they do.

"I woulda gone, honest, but they said blizzard's comin'." "I would have answered the call to arms but my wife said to watch the kids, she had a hair appointment." "My gun was in the shop."

Wait for it!

For all these reasons, they will act. I'll bet on it.
