You have no fucking idea what he was doing there. We know he was kicked out of the service for stealing from his buddies and that Russia would not trade him for Bout. That is all we know. We also know that Trump said he could have traded for Whelan 2 years ago but refused. Why the fuck aren't you mad at him?

I think it is reasonable to think based on the evidence that Whelan was an ex-marine with a fetish for Russian culture, Russian women, and he had an innocent interest in military technology like millions of other people do.
