For the record what happened is that Russia wanted their guy back so they grabbed a innocent American, sham trialed him, and then demanded a swap.

Trump decided that this behaviour should not be encouraged.

Which was the right thing to do.

Puh leeze a federal judge doesn't know more than the agent in charge of the task force that caught bout. The Judge just see limited information related to the exact charges in the case. The agent see the criminal and how he works and sees lots of things that are not part of the charges that Bout was charged with.

Indeed. This trade just endangers Americans by making them targert of trumped up charges and incarceration to be used as trade bait.

Your lack of knowledge regarding the judicial system is fascinating. The agent presents the judge with ALL the information necessary to make his case. They did just that, and Bount did 11 years. What makes you think this judge doesn't have access to the same info? Like I said, you got an ex-cop pissed that his career topping collar is getting out early. Understandable, but that doesn't make his predictions solid fact....especially his take on "international perceptions".

Look, all this hoo-ha is just another piece of the MAGA GOP's never ending "Joe is destroying the country" whine. I well understand the family of those still in Russian custody clamoring for more action, but I'll take with a grain of salt the bull horn from you and your brethren.
