My best friend, who is a Republican, openly admits his own racist and controlling behaviors of the past, caused one of his daughters to rebel against him.
I remember when he took his daughters (friends of my daughter) out of public school and put them in a private school, because he said he didn't want his daughters to go to school with minorities etc. And he stood in the way of them having minority friends etc. Basically, I thought he was wrong and way too strict about things like that.
He is a changed man today and loves his grand children. He has two Black Grand sons now, and we all love them to death. He is a good Father and Grandfather today. His daughter never married and is gay now! She makes good money, owns a new custom home, and has two wonderful sons who play all kinds of sports. She has always been treated just as I treat my own daughter as they grew up together!
He still supports Ted Cruz and Donald Trump like they are saints or something.
Kind of sends the wrong message to his grandsons though, in my opinion. He is one of those guys that can't stop talking about politics- even when he is around his family and friends.
