Tesla Semi-truck stops would consume the electricity of a small town

They are in the testing stage, I'm sure they'll go much further soon enough. Are you turning into A Pompous Fucker??

No. You can't create energy out of nothing.

Batteries have weight. That weight must be carried by the truck even when running as a bobtail. It requires a certain number of watt hours to move a certain weight a certain distance. It doesn't matter if those watt hours are from a diesel engine or from an electric motor.

You have to charge the batteries. That takes hours.

Massive flames erupt from Tesla fire on Pennsylvania highway

"A Tesla fire on Interstate 80 in Clearfield County forced fire crews to use around 12,000 gallons of water to bring it under control, according to the Morris Township Fire Company.

The Morris Township Fire Company said the vehicle's lithium-ion battery forced crews to request additional tankers as the vehicle would continue to reignite and burn fiercely at times."

Just for the record, a gasoline powered car normally requires 500 gallons of water to extinguish a fire.

The typical cause for this is unfortunately corrosion on the battery connections. This can happen over time in salt air environments or where the vehicle was subjected to flooding, snow damage, or road salt at some time in the past.
Pennsylvania uses salt (sodium chloride) for their roads during freezing weather.

Once a single battery goes, the entire pack will follow. It burns like a firework. There is no putting it out until ALL batteries burn. All you can really do is stand back and watch the show. The car is destroyed.

There are so many fascinating things that seem possible right now. It is an amazing time to be alive.

Using bacteria to make hydrogen out of oil???? Guess what, dude? That's been around for thousands of years, as far as anyone knows.

Since you seem to have no problem drilling for oil for now, you are now locked in paradox.

Another good argument for bio diesel.

And cars can be converted to run on bio fuels for about $1500. No new infrastructure required for either cars or trucks.

Not enough french fries. No change in the fuel system of a truck is needed to burn biodiesel.

No one has ever been sure enough about Heisenberg or Schrödinger to call any of what they did laws. There is a joke in there somewhere, but I am tired today.
Both Heisenberg and Schrodinger were sure enough to create the law. You are obviously clueless about their work and quantum mechanics.
Newton created what he called three laws of motion,
There is only one. F=mA.
one law of universal gravity,
Redundant buzzword.
and one law of cooling.
There is no law of cooling.
That would make five laws in total.
Too bad you can't count either.
His "laws" have mostly proven to be approximations, which work very well in general, but are not laws.
Math errors. Use of equation as probability without declared boundary. Algebraic error by insertion of term.

No law from any theory of science is an approximation, dude. All equations derived from any theory of science is called a 'law'.

So it is physically possible that a gas could insulate the earth, trapping in the energy from the sun, and thereby raise the temperature?

Earth, including it's atmosphere, is an object in space, idiot.
You cannot trap light. You cannot decrease entropy for any reason. You are still ignoring the 2nd law of thermodynamics and the Stefan-Boltzmann law.

America is not any more ready for Electric Semi-Trucks as we are for Autonomous Trucks yet. But that is the future- so you may as well start getting used to it.

There has to be infrastructure to be able to support this new technology.

The autonomous vehicle market for general use cars won't survive. All lawsuits from auto accidents involving such will be against the manufactures, driving them out of business.

Go invest in if you want to, but it's a BAD investment!

I believe that special lanes, including exits and buffer ramps, are the only way to accommodate both conventional and Autonomous vehicles to exist together on the same streets and highways.

I believe that special lanes, including exits and buffer ramps, are the only way to accommodate both conventional and Autonomous vehicles to exist together on the same streets and highways.

So your solution to drive on the same streets and highways is to build a completely new set of streets and highways dedicated to autonomous vehicles?????

It is very expensive to build such lanes, and many areas have no space to put them. There is no money to upgrade the surface streets to such special use lanes. Also, what keeps the vehicle in it's assigned lane? Buggy software??

Like usual, you haven't thought this through.

Here is what I think!

I think you have a political narrative, and so you will just argue about anything that does not play into your political narrative!

Some people don't like change. Just like records, people moved onto other media platforms as they became available like Reel to Reel, Cassette Tape, and Digital music sources.

What is great, IS YOU NOW HAVE A CHOICE THAT BEST FITS YOUR DESIRES AND NEEDS.

Personally, I enjoy VINYL and styrene records, and I still think this is the best source of playback for my tastes.

It is not practical for a turntable to be used while driving in a car, so I have a digital source for that now!

Mathematics isn't political. Neither are engineering techniques.

Pivot fallacy. A duplicate highway and street system isn't a media player. It also costs considerably more than a media player. Who's gonna pay for it?? You? Tax the autonomous car manufacturers who are the only users of the duplicate road system? That would put them out of business.

You haven't thought this through. Pivoting isn't going to help you.

I forgot Newton's Law of Fluid Friction. I knew there were six Newton Laws, but could not remember the sixth.

There is no law of Fluid Friction from Newton. Newton's theory of viscosity has been falsified. You might say it fell into quicksand.

Still can't count yet, eh?

Rare earths are not elements. They are compounds. They are available mostly in China, Australia, and the States (but mining them is forbidden by unconstitutional ecology laws).

Yep you truly are insane!

What are rare earth elements, and why are they important?

https://www.americangeosciences.org...are-earth-elements-and-why-are-they-important

The rare earth elements (REE) are a set of seventeen metallic elements. These include the fifteen lanthanides on the periodic table plus scandium and yttrium.

Rare earth elements are an essential part of many high-tech devices. The U.S. Geological Survey news release "Going Critical" explains:

"Rare-earth elements (REE) are necessary components of more than 200 products across a wide range of applications, especially high-tech consumer products, such as cellular telephones, computer hard drives, electric and hybrid vehicles, and flat-screen monitors and televisions. Significant defense applications include electronic displays, guidance systems, lasers, and radar and sonar systems. Although the amount of REE used in a product may not be a significant part of that product by weight, value, or volume, the REE can be necessary for the device to function. For example, magnets made of REE often represent only a small fraction of the total weight, but without them, the spindle motors and voice coils of desktops and laptops would not be possible.
