Things were different 50 - 60 years ago OLD FART!

When I was a kid, there was a neighborhood tavern up the street from our apartment. Draught beer was fifteen cents.
Neighborhood kids never got carded in those days, but I was always having to make weight for fights and could rarely take advantage of it.
Nothing to keep me from fifteen cent beer now, as a geriatric, but there isn't any around.

Anything to change the subject on an ironside Abbott thread.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced Tuesday that he will be invoking an "invasion" clause of both the U.S. Constitution and Texas Constitution to combat ongoing, overwhelming illegal immigration in the state.

The governor went on to claim he will be deploying gun boats for defense of the southern border and will designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

The "invasion clause" referenced by Abbott refers to Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, which states the U.S. "shall guarantee every state in this Union a republican form of government and shall protect each of them against invasion."

The Texas Constitution's Article 4, Section 7 also states that the governor, as commander in chief of military forces, "shall have power to call forth the militia to execute the laws of the State, to suppress insurrections, and to repel invasions."

The announcement seems to make good on a similar initiative floated by Abbott earlier this year in which he said he issued an executive order that allows Texas law enforcement to return illegal immigrants apprehended in the state back to the U.S. border......

Yep! Greg Abbott may have won the election, but he hasn't won the debate, and he hasn't gained any new popularity in this state!

Millions of Democrats in Texas have given up and do not even bother to show up at the polls, because WE HAVEN'T WON A THING HERE IN OVER 34 years now.

AND THE REPUBLICANS JUST KEEP ON WINNING BECAUSE OF IT!

Can't do anything about the gerrymandering problem just yet, but as long as millions of people don't bother to show up to vote- MY ANGER GOES TOWARDS THEM- NOT THE REPUBLICANS!
