Steve Bannon sentenced to 4 months in prison for flouting House Jan. 6 panel

A slight disagreement. He's intelligent, but more and more he's proving he has a highly distorted and violent view of America.

Notice how his response is so similar to anymouse's.

Much like McCarthy's "Red Scare", the Alt-Right/Trumpian POV is to create a strawman then use it to justify violence against Americans if not the overthrow of the United States government. They believe that"leftist terrorists" must be stopped at all costs, including murdering innocent and loyal Americans such as myself, a retired Naval officer.

A difference between TA and anymouse is that TA took an oath. IMO, by violating that oath, he becomes a traitor.

MCCARTHYISM AND THE RED SCARE

It's like they're reading from the Hitler playbook.

It's like they're reading from the Hitler playbook.

Scapegoating is as old as humanity. In the West, those scapegoated the most are Jews. In Europe, Gypsies. In England, anyone not English including the Irish and Welsh. "Mein Kampf" ranked African-Americans one step above Jews. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_black_people_in_Nazi_Germany

Notice that the Alt-Right/Trumpism follows the same format of scapegoating minorities for the problems of the majority.

Such hatred and scapegoating requires specific circumstances in order to take hold of a society. There will always be scumbags who are so fucked up they hate others, but most people are good. Good people turn into haters when they are scared. Hence, why fearmongering is a major tool of Trumpism and, to an extent, the Left.

Despite the disagreement with the sentence this pig Bannon got to which many felt he deserved at least 20 years at arrogantly and brazenly defying Congress as in contempt, and regardless of some good ole boy treatment he might get from tRump's un-American sewer conspiring counterparts, the pig Bannon will forever have the legacy at being the first so-called person to be convicted of contempt of Congress. The irony as in Bannon arrogantly and brazenly conspiring to wage war on democracy, it is democracy that put a stamp of conviction of contempt of Congress on his rancid hide forever. I also hope he is ordered to take a bath in prison, which would probably be the first bath he has ever had for a long time.

You have to step up your game. Every time you say "lawlessly hacked in Trump" I do a shot of Maker's Mark, and we've been going through a dry spell here. Work with me princess!

Hello signalmankenneth,

A judge has sentenced former Trump political adviser Steve Bannon to 4 months incarceration and a $6,500 fine for criminal contempt of Congress. The judge says he's prepared to let Bannon remain free while he appeals his convictions as Bannon is unlikely to flee or pose a danger to the community.

Bannon flouted demands for documents and testimony from the panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Lawmakers on the House Select Committee wanted to know why he said a day before the siege that "all hell is going to break loose tomorrow."

Federal prosecutors were seeking what they describe as a "severe" penalty: six months in jail and a fine of $200,000. In court papers earlier this week, they said Bannon pursued "a bad faith strategy of defiance and contempt."

Bannon sat quietly and did not react as asked U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols delivered the sentence.

Note this was a Trump appointed judge too?!!

Bannon must have been in on it. He knew before January 6th that it was going to be violent.

He'd rather do prison time than rat out on Trump.

Hello Walt,

It is Federal time, and he will not have enough time to gain any points, so he will serve 4 months.

But it would be in one of the softer facilities. He wouldn't get tossed in with the hardest criminals.

I wonder if he would even get country club white collar treatment.

MCCARTHYISM AND THE RED SCARE

Guess what famous lawyer helped give both Red Scare Senator Joe McCarthy tremendous power to threaten political opponents, and billionaire Donald J Trump a 40 year get-out-of-paying-taxes-free card on his luxury Trump Tower in Manhattan?

"Roy Marcus Cohn (/koʊn/; February 20, 1927 – August 2, 1986) was an American lawyer and prosecutor who came to prominence for his role as Senator Joseph McCarthy's chief counsel during the Army–McCarthy hearings in 1954, when he assisted McCarthy's investigations of suspected communists. In the late 1970s and during the 1980s, he became a prominent political fixer in New York City.[2][3][4][5] He also represented and mentored the real estate developer and later U.S. President Donald Trump during his early business career." wiki

New York City Council denied Trump's special tax break request. Trump got Roy Cohn to 'fix it' for him. An appeal of the City Council decision was sought, and miraculously, not only was the special 40 year tax break granted, but the decision was unanimous. Hmmmmmm. Why should a billionaire get a big fat tax break on a luxury condo tower??? Probably because people got threatened if they didn't give it to him???

When he actually serves a day I'll be surprised!
If this was any other country, Trump and his whole gang of criminals would be strung up by now!
Fact is the law doesn't apply to the rich and powerful in America!
Another byproduct of Corporate Capitalism

Black Supremacy Extremists were renamed Black Identity Extremists by the FBI because it sounded more right-on and less threatening.

FBI 'Black Identity Extremists' Bigger Threat Than Al Qaeda, White Supremacists:

Leaked FBI documents indicate "black identity extremists" and animal rights activists are among the agency's top counterterrorism priorities under President Donald Trump.

The FBI's priority list documents, obtained by The Young Turks Thursday, lay out the Bureau's 2018 fiscal year focal points in counterterrorism, cyber crime and counterintelligence.

The 2018-19 "Threat Guidance" documents describe black identity extremists (BIEs) as those who "use force or violence in violation of criminal law in response to perceived racism and injustice in American society." The files claimed some BIEs acted in hopes of "establishing a separate black homeland or autonomous black social institutions, communities or governing organizations within the USA."

What's this about, your bad guy is worse than my bad guy? lol.

It will be good for him. Prison food is terrible, and he'll be sure to lose weight. It's not going to help his gross skin condition. I wonder if the prison will give Steve a variance and let him wear 50 shirts.

It might help him dry out.

It is doubtful he will try to escape, so they are unlikely to put him somewhere where too much effort is spent to hold him in. They are going to put with non-violent criminals, but sometimes a violent criminal is mixed in with the non-violent criminals.

For the most part, 4 months of minimum security detention is not pleasant, but certainly not the worst thing that can happen. Most Americans would gladly serve his four months if when they were released they would have his money.

It's not surprising that #TRE45ON's FBI believed that a racial minority group and mostly-innocuous animal rights activists were the worst danger in the U.S. Amazing how they ignored the rising white nationalists/supremacists, the militia seditionists, psychos with weapons of mass destruction attacking malls and churches and schools.

Wait until his sedition trial results. That could involve years. LOL

The judge exceeded his authority. Congress does not have power of subpoena. No judge has authority to change the Constitution.
