Lack of supply because of refineries needing to shut down for maintenance. . As I mentioned long ago refineries all across America have been running at unsustainable rates this summer trying to keep gas prices down on direction from the Revolution. I said that after the election gas prices would go way up again, and that this is exactly what the Revolution wants. They did not quite make it to the election, just a few weeks short.

Newsom is throwing a fit.

I saw it for $2.88 in Texas today but we have different refineries. They are going to stop drawing out of the SOR in October so I expect gas prices will inch back up.

We have already had one major refinery fire this summer, OREGON Ohio....BP....Cenovus (which may or may not be rebuilt), the hope is that we can avoid more. Deferred maintenance at refineries tend to lead to fires.

More than one. You don't get American news in beijing?

We are on our own because of the lack of pipelines over the Rockies. It is the same story for natural gas and our injections are down 14% from the five year average at this time with only a month to go before storage is supposed to be full.

Newsom is allowing winter blend a month early which might mean that California could in theory use Washington made gas, but there are no truck drivers to carry it, nor trucks probably.

Well duh, we just had a major hurricane, the number one excuse for raising prices. Oil companies always raise prices when a hurricane is in the works. It would be weird if prices wouldn't be going up. Just wait, the rest of the country will catch up in time.

You are an idiot.

Or a liar.

Newsom lies his ass off, but there is no real dispute that the problem is too much refining capacity shut down at the same time, causing a shortage of product. The only question is whether these shut downs are justified, and they almost certainly are for reasons I pointed out in the opening.

You're an idiot. Go back to beijing.

In AZ it's only central and northern AZ that are getting fucked because they get their gas from refineries in California. Southern AZ gets their gas from ones in Texas. AZ needs to extend the pipeline from Tucson to Phoenix for Texas gasoline and then abandon using California refineries except as secondary sources.

Same here in Indiana...

I still dont find how CA going to more polluting winter blend a month early is supposed to help. The problem is lack of refining capacity as refineries are shut down for maintenance, the only way winter blend could help substantially is if this allows that capacity to make more gas, or it would allow the importation of Washington gas.....but I dont find anyone telling me this is so.
