This storm called Ian

I don't think a first responder's child should lose a father or mother because a dumbass chose to not save themselves when they had the option.

You're right. I should have never responded to your bait. You're just a troll, angry at the world. Buh bye.

Translation: Let the children of dumbasses drown. Best for everyone.

Disagreed, but I do agree it should be the choice of Americans to choose to be a First Responder.

There are safer occupations such as working as a filing clerk, sweeping floors downtown, stocking shelves, etc. I support your choice to be safe.

I'm going with 50-100...and that's hedging my bet, since this could easily turn into another Katrina.

https://www.history.com/news/hurricane-katrina-facts-legacy
Hurricane Katrina, the tropical cyclone that struck the Gulf Coast in August 2005, was the third-strongest hurricane to hit the United States in its history at the time. With maximum sustained winds of 175 mph, the storm killed a total of 1,833 people and left millions homeless in New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
Florida will do a MUCH better job than Louisiana.

Florida will do a MUCH better job than Louisiana.

We'll know by Friday how much. I'm still thinking at least 100 dead, but won't be surprised if it tops 500. I've been wrong before. It depends on how many people leave and both the strength and water output of Ian.

Glad you admit that you are an ambulance chaser.

You are the loon who posted “fake a China Storm.”

You really believe that, ambulance chaser?

Concrete thinkers rarely understand humor.

For those interested: https://www.healthline.com/health/abstract-thinking#limitations

Conditions that may limit abstract reasoning
Some neurological conditions may interfere with your ability to think abstractly.

  • Autism spectrum disorder. ResearchersTrusted Source have found that some people with autism spectrum disorder may have trouble with concepts and problem-solving.
  • Schizophrenia. Some forms of abstract thinking, particularly those involved in interpreting social situations,Trusted Source may be limited by schizophrenia.
  • Traumatic or organic brain injuries. Injuries from accidents and prenatal exposures, including fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, can impact the areas of the brain that make abstract thinking possible.
  • Intellectual disabilities. Individuals with intellectual impairment often have difficulties using and understanding abstract thinking skills.
  • Dementia. Often the parts of the brain involved in many types of dementia are the same parts that control abstract thinking skills.

In short, by discussing topics with people online, it's relatively simple to identify those who can think abstractly and those who cannot. For those who cannot think abstractly, the curiosity for me is to figure out why.

Same thing you said about COVID -- that it is no worse than a bad cold -- while hiding indoors, sleeping in PPE, and avoiding all human contact. Did you put the floats on your trailer yet, dearie?

LOL Excellent observation and comparison.

Notice that it's the COVID deniers who are mainly poo-poohing the dangers of Ian.

You're lucky. So you're predicting a "nothing burger". Good.

At the moment, Ian is reported to be 2MPH short of a Cat 5. No doubt it's just a fucking Lefty Liberal Global Warming hoax and this is just a little high tide and thunderstorms. Do you plan on going to be beach today? Windsurfing?

 :rofl2:

I wonder if Pat Robertson is going to blame this on LGBTQ ppl, CRT, or teachers who are "grooming" little Florida kids for gawdonlyknowswhat?

Hurricane Ian Betting Pool:

How many dead Floridians will Ian produce?
ZERO

1-10

10-20

20-50

50-100

100+

I hope it is zero, even if that means we still have to read the rantings and screeches of Minty. Hopefully most ppl have either evacuated or are not in its path.

Florida is a much more wealthy nation than is Puerto Rico, that has a lot to do with it, unfortunately.

Agreed. The west coast of Florida, especially Naples and Port Charlotte, have a lot of money.

We'll all know by Friday how well the Floridian infrastructure holds up. :)

It’s as insane as the Trumpper claims about Covid! And I happen to know this storm is real.
