After five days of voting, only 96% of residents in Russian-held regions of Ukraine supported joining Russia, according to initial counts. This means that some people voted against, or at least managed to dodge the armed squads who took ballot boxes door-to-door to give people the opportunity to vote.

President Putin is now expected to announce the accession of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson to the Russian Federation. Residents will have all the benefits of Russian citizenship, including the right to volunteer for military service. Any military action against these areas will be considered an attack on Russia. However, Ukrainian Nazis can still attack Lviv.

The self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic voted 98.2% to join with Russia, the Donetsk People’s Republic was 99.23% in favor, Kherson region was 87.05% in favor and in the Zaporizhzhia region 93.1%

I have never voted for any candidate or ballot proposition in my life that got anywhere near 99 percent of the vote.

You have this unique talent in lying to yourself and to others that these referendum were even close to being legitimate.

The election of our man al Sisi was a far different scenario to the referenda in Ukraine, er.......... now Russia. For one thing- the pro-Russian population have been asking to be Russian for eight years, following the US-led coup that you deny transpired.

I am 100 percent confident you are aware this referendum was a sham, but you just cannot muster the tiny amount of integrity it would take to openly admit it to people on an obscure message board you don't know and will never meet

They don't show up armed and demand you fill out the ballot in full view of the armed men.

I'm sure if the Ukranians did the same tactics in the Donbas, sending armed soldiers to watch people fill out the ballots, 96% of those voting would vote to stay with Ukraine.

People who voted says it was, a woman said she feared for her life if she voted no. It’s a total sham.
