This storm called Ian

Ian, now a major Category 3 hurricane, is growing stronger in the Gulf of Mexico
The center of Ian could strengthen into a Category 4 hurricane later Tuesday as it continues to move over the Gulf, forecasters said.

Hurricane Ian became a major Category 3 storm early Tuesday and will continue to strengthen as it approaches Florida, National Hurricane Center forecasters say.

Or not.

Ian is spread over a large area, and it is slow moving.....the most damaging kind of hurricane. Large sections of prime AG land are predicted to get 15-20 inches of rain.....that is a huge problem.....the crops there will be destroyed and it will be something like 2 months before they can be replanted. I read someone say that there are a lot of mature crops in this area, but I have not been able to verify this.

I love the hurricane "experts" who have never been near one. Funny.

I've been through five hurricanes and two typhoons. You?

Once the power goes out, taking the A/C with it, and the ice and liquor are gone, being in a hurricane sucks ass. Can't even open a fucking window because the rain is flying sideways. In later years I found hurricanes to be a good time to visit out-of-state relatives.

Many. The electric companies here restore power soon after the winds die down. More times than not, it's been a nothing burger. This is the media's Super Bowl. The threat is always overdone to the hilt. Our infrastructure and preparedness are second to none.

Interesting, over half the area that was to get 15-20 inches of rain they now say 10-15.

I wish these fuckers would make up their minds.

Hopefully not as bad as predicted ,which, of course, will infuriate the left, who LOVE disasters that harm America.

[/FONTWho loves desasters that harm America??????? You are of course talking about Trump, yes? We don't love that lying sac of shit, yall do!!

Florida isn't Puerto Rico. They actually have a robust building code (Called "Dade County code") and have made huge strides in weatherizing the state against these annual storms. That's in contrast to Puerto Rico where they apparently still use Mexican level--Second World--building code, if you can call it that. That's why Puerto Rico (run by Democrats BTW) is fucked up like a soup sandwich every time a hurricane hits the island...

Oh, really??? So that condo a few years ago, that collapsed was just our amagination???

Unfortunately this is going to be a very bad one. It has winds up to 155 mph now and is growing stronger. Plus the geography of where it is coming is conducive to flooding and it will be arriving near high tide.

You're lucky. So you're predicting a "nothing burger". Good.

At the moment, Ian is reported to be 2MPH short of a Cat 5. No doubt it's just a fucking Lefty Liberal Global Warming hoax and this is just a little high tide and thunderstorms. Do you plan on going to be beach today? Windsurfing?

Lig says it's a nothing burger. Lefty media bullshit to support the Global Warming Hoax.

I was in Florida from 1986 to 1998. Andrew was the only Cat 5 that I recall. All the hurricanes I endured were mainly Cat 1s and 2 with one Cat 3, IIRC.

Since then, Florida has been repeatedly hit with Cat 3s and 4s. No doubt just Lefty Media bullshit. Fake News. LOL https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/outreach/history/

I have no sympathy for idiots.

Ron DeSantis burns ‘global warming’ talk, yet pitches $276M in environmental spending
When asked what he's done to address global warming and rising sea levels, the Governor attacked liberal ideologies.

Despite criticizing people who use global warming rhetoric, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a quarter billion dollars in what he called a proactive approach to combat rising sea levels.

Ahead of his formal budget announcement expected later this week, the Republican Governor unveiled $276 million in proposed state funding for 76 projects as part of the Department of Environmental Protection’s first three-year environmental spending plan. The Governor expected to announce “many hundreds of millions more” in environmental spending soon.
