Gov. Glenn Youngkin enacted new policies after his Democrat predecessor allowed students to choose which restrooms to use based on gender identity
Teachers are also not required to enforce gender pronouns in the classroom in accordance with their First Amendment right to free speech
The new policies 'reflect the Department’s confidence in parents to prudently exercise their fundamental right under the Fourteenth Amendment and the Virginia Constitution to direct the upbringing, education, and control of their children,' the guidelines state

"Virginia's recently-elected Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin will ban transgender students from using bathrooms that don't match their birth certificates and stop teachers from having to use children's alternative pronouns.

The Republican, who beat Democrat Terry McAuliffe in a surprise win last November, is now reversing many of the woke policies enacted by his Democrat predecessor Ralph Northam defeat.

The new model for schools was released by the Department of Education on Friday with the emphasis that 'parents have the right to make decisions with respect to their children and the government can't 'require individuals to adhere to or adopt any particular ideological beliefs.'


Transgender students must show official paperwork confirming their gender has been changed if they wish to access facilities that correspond to their gender identity.

And teachers cannot be forced to address students by an alternative pronoun after Youngkin's office ruled that doing so would violate their First Amendment rights.

The rules will come into effect by the end of September, after a 'commentary period.'

'The Department hereby withdraws the 2021 Model Policies, which shall have no further force and effect, and hereby provides these 2022 Model Policies, which are effective immediately,' the new policy reads..."

Indeed...back to educating our children and preparing them for the future... I'm pleasantly surprised at how well the year is going here...

The policy of allowing teachers to assume the role of parents concerning moral issues is dying in America.

Excellent, parents are the moral compass for children, not teachers. Teachers are educators, not moralists.

The far left Democrat Socialist loons are losing on the school issues, don’t get between parents and their children. Don’t send the FBI to parents and label them terrorists.

They are losing on the illegal immigration issue.

They are losing on the inflation issue.

They are losing on the open borders issue.

They are losing on the crime issue.

The Democrats are losers.

It's funny...years ago, there were some here worried about how a teacher might be "influencing" students when it came to politics, personal beliefs, etc....they threatened to send someone to school to check out the "situation"...Of course it wasn't happening and they had to apologize for threatening to do so....Look at them now...supporting those doing what they condemned....:laugh: We're there..parents are there.... to make sure that doesn't happen...because now it is....
 
This is great news. I cant tell you how much grief it caused in the school system (where my wife used to work). She ran the clinic and the trans wound up in her bathroom as they were not really comfortable in ANY general use one for what should be obvious reasons.

This removes a great deal of staff effort to sort out whatever crazy preferences these disturbed kid's parents had. Now they can go back to actually teaching.

the best thing schools could do is to just say no to federal money. not easy to do but quite necessary to regain control of the education of our kids.
