Trump wanted to make the video public- he didn't
There is nothing he could make public that would in any way exonerate him, and he knows it.

OR someone who understands how someone gets a court to do something, like making a document public.

Trump knows he can announce he wants it made public, but if he fails to ask the Court to do it in a motion, his public announcement will have 0 affect on if its released or not.
