Trump just revealed exactly why Liz Cheney’s loss is so unsettling

Esp. not for the rest of us. One (R) is just about the same as the next -- useless as tits on a bull.

She's OUR useful idiot now because she's expertly prosecuting him in J6. It looks like she's going to run for president now as an R! This can only help Democrats. When she defeats twump in the primary, like all evil assholes (Joe Lieberman was the last one) he'll run as an Independent in the primary, splitting the GOP vote and ensuring a Democratic president.

I gives Dems no credit for this situation - the GOP simply over played its hand and destroyed itself.

Had Nancy Pelosi been Senate Majority Leader instead of Speaker, that SCOTUS shit would never have happened. She'd have fed the turtle man McConnel his lunch (wilted lettuce is his fav).

I just want to slap the glasses of Chuck Shumer's weak nose when I see him. What a clumsy douche. Harry Reed was the same weak, clumsy dork, may he RIP.

He's been around a long, long time. I remember him from the first Gulf War in the early 90s, and laughing at how appropriate his name was for a "war correspondent."

You might not be old enough to remember, but Al Franken use to spoof Wolf and other war correspondents when he was a player/writer on SNL - he'd be in a desert scene with one of those giant antenna arrays as a backpack, "broadcasting live from the war".

I'm old enough to remember but never really made the connection since I wasn't a Blitzer fan.

LOL Good name, shitty journalist. I never paid attention to him until Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 disappeared and I was looking for updates. He was blatantly trying to make news, not report it.

I'm more of a Walter Cronkite/Huntley & Brinkley guy who prefers journalists who simply report the news and don't tell me what to think about it.

Ditto. But those days are long gone.

We were watching a commercial (Ugh, right?) last night for a local bank. Remember when bank commercials were sober, dignified things signifying trust and security? The decor was also subdued and stately. Not anymore. In this commercial it was all blue and electric, with lots of movement and bright shiny interactive tech (the teller was a big full-color moving screen). It's pretty obvious they ain't appealing to our generation anymore. lol

and you'd be wrong. The Democrats lean toward group think, not demagogues and autocrats. Both, of course, are authoritarian.

You could be more incorrect about that, but I doubt it. Getting a consensus out of the (D)s is like herding cats. We're all milling around, each going a different way, with little agreement on what priorities we should focus on. That's why we're so easy for the fascist authoritarians of the Reichwing to push us around. lol

LOL

Why? Because older people aren't as big of suckers as younger people.....Trumpers being an obvious exception.

I remember this same point being made in the 70s and 80s; older generation complaining that many shows, and their commercials, were geared to younger people. Same reason: Older people are wiser about how to spend their money. Advertisers want to make money. If they produce million-dollar commercials for clients who only see a 500K rise in profits, they won't be advertisers for long. They aim for those who not only have money but who can be parted from it.

It goes directly to Thomas Tusser's 16th century comment "a fool and his money are soon parted".

Agreed getting a consensus is difficult; the larger the group the larger the difficulty.

Still, disagree with two or more Democrats and expect to be dogpiled. This is where the "modern" Republican Party's authoritarianism proves they are RW Democrats since they do exactly the same thing. No more personal accountability. No more individual thinking. No more State's Rights. Just a RW version of LW group think.

Thanks for thinking I'm too young to recall that. It was hilarious! There was another CNN correspondent that I recall. In one of his spots, he was staying in a hotel in Riyadh with other journalists when the Scud missiles starting falling in the city. He hid behind a large potted plant in an alcove and reported from there about the missiles. He didn't mean for it to be hilarious but it was. He's retired from broadcasting now, and has moved to the STL area where he was a reporter on local news stations till retirement. We're actually friends now on social media.

You seem to think that (R)s don't do this. They do, and a lot worse than the (D)s. The difference? Two or more lefties can disagree about something and still be civil with each other. Reichwingers march in ̶g̶o̶o̶s̶e̶s̶t̶e̶p̶ lockstep and dutifully repeat the exact same talking points as their brethren.

I do as stated in this sentence, "This is where the "modern" Republican Party's authoritarianism proves they are RW Democrats since they do exactly the same thing."

It's a divisive ideology; Us vs. Them. Back in my day, Republicans disagreed on issues without recrimination. When it came to the final decision, they all moved in lock step with the party. This was before the Internet when people knew who they were talking to. Not like the keyboard kowards seen today.

You think that she will not run for POTUS because that would insure that the Revolution defeats Desantos (or whoever)?

You are not paying attention, she is sure that R's must be punished for allowing Trump.....to make sure that the commands of the Failed Elite Class are never again ignored.

We've descended below mediocrity as a nation because we stopped appreciating our elite.
Joe Sixpack mentality has made us the laughingstock of the civilized world.

Elites are elite for a reason.

Awww... that's cool. Sorry it has to be STL ;)

Don't you wish so hard, Draft-Dodger-and-Treason-Supporter.
