Liz Cheney calls on Democratic voters to switch parties, give her boost in GOP primary

Wyoming voters will go to the polls Tuesday to vote in the state's primary elections, and Republican congresswoman Rep. Liz Cheney is looking to an unusual source for support in her GOP race: Democrats.

While only members of a given party are allowed to vote in that party's primary in Wyoming, the state does allow for same-day voter registration. This means that people can switch parties the same day they vote, so those who had been Democrats can become Republicans just to vote for Cheney in the primary, where her main challenger is Harriet Hageman.

"When Liz Cheney’s only hope is to appeal to Democrats to raid a Republican primary, you know she has gone all the way over to Nancy Pelosi’s side," Hageman's campaign manager Carly Miller told Wyoming Public Media. "Wyoming is fed up with Cheney, and it’s too late for any election shenanigans to save her."....

The irony of Liz trying to rig an election and thwart the will of the GOP voter is humorous. But it isn't going to save her. She is going to lose BIG. By Liz.

I read that the state D party is supporting this idea. One party attempting to sabotage the other party at the ballot box, being able to do it, is just one more reason we cant have confidence in elections.

Why doesn't Liz Cheney run as an independent, I'm she would get plenty of independent voters along with Republicans and Democrats

Because today is Wyoming's primary and she can't decide to run as an independent if she loses because she's past the deadline to register as one for the ballot in November.

Has nothing to do with confidence, it is an open primary, voters can choose who they like regardless of party. Both sides have done, the GOP was so eager for Hillary to beat Obama back in 2008 that they were all in with aiding her whoever there was an open primary

Always though it was stupid, primaries are for the party to decide, and I don’t believe the open primary is the rule across the country

Its hard to argue that open primaries are a good idea. I am of the opinion that it is too late to matter as the elites have mostly removed power from the people and America is now run by the WOKE Revolution which will eventually collapse but not before America is ruined and China runs the world....this is mostly an academic question at this point...but it was one of the many bad ideas of the age.

You wouldn't register to vote...and be a...Republican and not mean it, would you?;)

You don't have to be a member of any political party to vote! Lots of people vote split tickets!
You don't see me joining the Communist party, and even though your views are Fascist ,you haven't joined the American Nazi Party! Or have you?

Why doesn't she just switch parties?

:oprah:

Must worship Trump....must worship Trump.....

Someday, GOP candidates won't have to walk mindlessly in lockstep to win races. Someday, Republicans will actually value conservative principles and positions.

Must not sit on a bogus 1/6 investigation. That tends to piss Republican voters off. Liz is gone and a pro Trump representative will replace her. Good job Liz.
