Nope, he did not call for releasing the warrant. He could do that himself. Immediately.

He is calling for the release of the seized documents, which of course, he knows is not possible since they have not yet been completely reviewed..

Just as I predicted, the victim/martyr card is being played.

Exactly. This is Trumpian smoke and mirrors.

Trump was given a subpoena in June to give back the documents. He refused and never announced the subpoena.

The documents were court-ordered to be seized with a search warrant. Trump has a copy and can release it as a private citizen. He didn't.

Today, Garland is asking to release it from his end. Will Trump oppose it?

Trump will probably pull a similar stunt like he did with releasing his tax returns. “I will do it when ________.”

“When” never comes.

Trump bullshits people because, for his fans, it works. Trump will ramp up the bullshit until more Americans die in the streets. Mostly dead Trumpers who Trump considers to be expendable assets, like he abandoned after 1/6.

Thanks, that's exactly it. Good post.

Yep.

It will be interesting to see, when he opposes the release of the warrant, if the court overrules his objection and lets the DOJ go forth with it. It IS FL so who knows how they'll rule.

Not a lawyer, but my understanding is that this revolves around Trump's privacy. Since Trump already publicly talked about it, he negated his right to privacy on this issue. Ergo, he shot down his own main argument in court.

I have little doubt that a court will order it released. Too much in the public interest to nor.

We'll see what he does in court. Either he files a court motion to oppose releasing the warrant and the material requesting the warrant...or the DOJ will release them.

My guess...he will file a motion to oppose releasing the warrant.

.

He's crazy enough to do so and his fans will support him no matter what.

I've read that as well. Makes sense. If he'd just kept his ugly anus-shaped yap shut, he could quash the release.
