The future climate - the planet is giving us a glimpse

I grew up in New Orleans. I remember 85° temps around Christmas Day as a kid.
That’s what a semi-tropical climate does at times.

The fact that it was 122 F in death valley in 1933 or that it snowed in Tampa in 1972 are examples of localized weather, not global climatic trends.

Not true, there was a period between 1910 to 1940 when there was clearly a global trend. 1934 was declared the hottest year on record until 1990 overtook it. I can see why alarmists want to play that down as CO2 was only 300ppm back then.

That's an important question, because we could reduce emissions to zero and it wouldn't change anything, due to the rest of the world & the countries you mentioned.

I have always felt that all America can do is lead. If we can successfully pursue a path on energy and environmentalism - that actually improves economies and lives - others will follow suit.

It's all we can do, in addition to persuading. We can't force other countries to do anything.

While we lead the world into bankruptcy China will be growing and prospering and adding more C02 than we remove.

Ironically, ground zero for global warming denialism, the southern United States, is going to get baked and broiled the worst. I hope they don't mind triple digits weather in April and May and no relief from the relentless heat until November

:palm:

You seem to deny the southern United States is mostly either desert or semi- tropical.
Talk about denialism.

Apparently, you must know more about climate science than the climate scientist.

Can't really know less. "Climate" science is a relatively new branch of science--if it is one on its own. Our knowledge of the planet's atmospheric climate and how it works only really got started in the 1940's - 50's. Prior to that, we knew next to nothing about it. The existence of the Jet Stream wasn't discovered until 1920, and at that point we only knew the barest fragmentary details about it. The Van Allen belt and investigation into how solar radiation effects climate started in 1958.

Our long-term recorded data on climate is sketchy at best. Yet, believers in Gorebal Warming think somehow the science is "settled" and debate is over. They think that the "climate" scientists that believe in Gorebal Warming are absolutely right even as none of their predictions pan out. Hell, I could get better guesses from a psychic!

You have no evidence except your own racism.

Why racist Northern White libs really hate the Southern States.

Which, personally, I think is very nice of the planet.

And no - I'm not saying one weather event means anything. But, it is showing us what a likely future outcome will be. Global temps pushing and exceeding 100, the polar caps melting at accelerated rates.

Honestly, even the Green New Deal doesn't go far enough. We need a revolution in terms of energy use and conservation. It won't happen - but it's what we need. Conservatives always say that environmentalists are alarmists and have been doing the "boy cries wolf" routine for decades - but what they don't seem to realize is that most predictions about the climate and our planet have come true. We've just gotten used to the changes.

The globalist Nazis CO2 hoax is the most anti environmental movement ever created. Trillions and trillions of taxpayer money funneled to socialist cronies.

Total media blackout of real environmental issues.

"Trillions and trillions?" Is that what the right-wing propaganda says?
