Charges dropped on the Colbert 9

The 9 Colbert employees that were arrested for trespassing in the Capitol have had their charges dropped. I called it when they were arrested. The Capitol police aren't pleased. How many of the trespassers on J6 have had their charges dropped even though the Capitol police held the door open for some of them to enter? So much for equal justice.

Read the reason why they dropped the charges before you make a fool of yourself.

They didn't "trespass". They entered the building as they were supposed to with an escort. The problem is they were supposed to be escorted at all times. The escort left them. The prosecutor stated they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Colbert's staff knew they were supposed to have an escort.

I guess, the fact that Colbert's crew didn't attack any officers, didn't smear feces on the wall, and didn't shout "hang Mike Pence." doesn't register with you.

Federal prosecutors have declined to bring charges against nine people associated with CBS' "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" who were arrested in a building in the U.S. Capitol complex last month.

The decision, made by the U.S. attorney's office in Washington, comes after prosecutors determined they "cannot move forward" with the misdemeanor charges against the nine people arrested June 16 in the Longworth House Office Building. The incident followed the third public hearing by the House panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection.

A spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office said it was not probable a conviction could be obtained and sustained given that the nine arrested had been invited and that their escorts had never asked them to leave the building.

I'm not talking about people that were violent. Screw them. A lot of those people entered the capitol building thru doors held open by Capitol police and did nothing. They weren't violent.You can't hold the actions of the crowd against a person that did not commit violence. The Colbert 9 knew they were not authorized to be there because the Capitol police threw them out and they re-entered the building. That is TRESPASS. If you throw the book at one you should not drop the charges on the other. This is unequal justice. Rioters that were not violent and the Colbert 9 should both be fined and given probated sentences.

No one entered the Capitol through doors being held open by the Capitol police. You are as FOS as always.
