There are 120 guns for every 100 Americans

Then stop support them, dumbass.

Show me a government military Assault Rifle that isn't fully automatic or select fire.

Can't. There is no such thing as an 'assault rifle'.
Port Tack referred to 'weapons of war', meaning weapons used by the military. If you use THAT term, you are completely correct, for rifles. All pistols carried by servicemen are semi-automatics. Artillery is often single fire (except tanks), and so are bazookas and other rockets.

Mines and grenades are of course single use.

Port Tack is discarding the 2nd amendment again. He somehow thinks it applies only to a certain list of weapons.

So, it's a topic for discussion. We lead the world in gun ownership, and in gun violence. This is not a coincidence.

It's worth discussing. I don't know what the answer is. Maybe people are fine that we lead the world in gun violence, and this is just the way it is.

America is different. Our nation was born in violence and we carry that tradition forward. As for "gun violence", most of those are suicides. It's deceitful, if not an outright lie, to imply "gun violence" taking lives other than the shooter's.

I support the 2nd amendment, and the right to own a gun.

But there is something wrong w/ America. Gun ownership has a near-religious devotion among some segments of the population. We hear "God, guns & gays" from voters in some regions, and for many, it is the top voting issue. Every small regulation or background check is a "slippery slope." The NRA refuses to postpone or move a large event that is taking place within days of a devastating shooting in a nearby location.

Like Trump support, it's a bit of a cult, and always a battle for those who are believers. The government is just an entity that wants to "grab their guns."

We're unique in the world in this respect. The 2nd country on the list has half the guns per capita that America does.

We're a gun nation.

We're going to need a link to debate this issue dimwitted wonder dunce. Doing some math, this screed suggests that there are 396,000,000 guns in America. How did they come up with this massive figure? Guess work? Leftist assumptions?

Legal gun ownership is not the issue in America. Leftist Attorney Generals who refuse to prosecute crime based on skin color are. We don't have a gun crisis in our nation. we have a crime crisis fueled by leftist Democrat DA's refusing to keep criminals off our streets. I wish you were smarter. Really I do.
:palm:

I am always amused by this statement. How has ANY nation not been born of violence. Can you name just one? :palm:

Correct! Most deaths are also from handguns, not scaring looking long guns.

It's deceitful, if not an outright lie, to imply "gun violence" taking lives other than the shooter's.

Correct!

We're a gun nation.

It's the guns.

Guns are a drug.

Firing a gun releases dopamine in the brain and for some people, that dopamine release can be very addictive.

I think most gun ownership in this country is in fact addiction, and that to combat gun violence, we need to treat firearms the same way we treat drugs like heroin and cocaine, because guns do the same thing.

there you go exposing your complete lack of critical thinking skills again

there you go exposing your complete lack of critical thinking skills again

I think you and people like you are addicted to the feelings you get from holding and firing a gun because biologically, both release highly addictive amounts of dopamine in your brain.

Gun ownership is a mental illness because it's based on addiction to the chemicals your brain releases when you hold and/or fire the weapon.

There is ALWAYS a biological explanation for human behavior, and the biological explanation for gun ownership (and resulting gun violence) is the addiction you and others have to the feelings you get when you hold or fire a gun.

You're basically a junkie...you're addicted to the feelings you get when you hold and fire a weapon.

If that weapon is taken away, what is your compulsion? To act violently. SAME COMPULSION DRUG ADDICTS HAVE WHEN DRUGS ARE TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM.

If your guns were removed from your possession, you would go through withdrawal and that withdrawal manifests in violence...you laid that out for all of us here.
