We're #37!!

ahh, I read Obese as Obtuse.... Sorry.

Look it up Obease is not a matter of degree, you are or you are not.

If you think there aren't varying degrees of obesity, then once again you display your ignorance.

But nice attempt to duck the question... I will word it to where you can't squirm out of it this time.

For the average obese person... do they have higher or lower risk when it comes to their health than the average person who is not obese?

"Obesity is a term used to describe body weight that is much greater than what is considered healthy. If you are obese, you have a much higher amount of body fat than lean muscle mass.

Adults with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25 but less than 30 are considered overweight.

Adults with a BMI greater than 30 are considered obese."

Wow... thanks for stating the obvious.... now does the BMI stop at 30? Or does it keep going up? oooooops... there goes you ignorance again... because it does indeed continue climbing. The higher it gets above 30 the greater your obesity level and the greater your health risks.

you are such an idiot.

Really? My father's a liberal. He's also a decorated combat veteran who retired after 30 years of service to the United States of America, first with the 8th Air Force, then as a civilian with the Departments of State and Justice, and a stint on JFK's staff, so you can take your "liberals hate freeedom[sic] and the Constitution" crap, and shove it up your backside, right up next to your head. If the liberals hate the Consitution[sic], why are the Republicans always the ones trying to shred it?
When did he start hating the Constitution? Can he spell it correctly?

Yeah, to quote Ron white, "You can't fix stupid," and old Assbite there has a terminal case of rectal-cranial insertion. I'd quote my beloved icon and say, "That boy's about as sharp as a bowling ball," but that would be a mortal insult to bowling balls everywhere, and I don't want to run afoul of the BBADL (Bowling Ball Anti Defamation League). Those suckers take no prisoners (afternoon leaues forming now! Fun for the whole family! Stop into your local AMF Bowling Center for details!), so i'll play it safe with another Foghorn quote: "reminds me of Paul Revere's ride...a little light in the belfry."
Foghorn would also say...

"Why, he's a small as the little end of nothing sharpened."

Additionally, we need a national focus on healthier eating habits and the benefits of exercise. The more obese we become as a nation, the greater our long term health costs will be.

I can't argue with this. It was a huge focus when I was growing up, but has been put on the back burner, once again.

Eating healthy gets in the way of fast/junk food profits and in the way of a fast living lifestyle which also profits many.

It is also the easy/lazy way out.

It is also true that because of the high cost of going to the doctor in this country, people don't go until they're already sick, while in the countries with universal health care, doctors are more involved with preventative healthcare, which is far less expensive than waiting until you are sick to seek care. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and that still holds true. That's one of the savings of universal health care: doctors shift their primary focus from curing sickness to promoting health.

Promoting health doesn't require doctors.

The government should tell people what to eat.

This is why people always say the left is against freedom. They are.
