OTOH, once down, they should have stopped firing. As the police chief noted, every officer will be held accountable for every round fired.
This case is not about shooting an innocent person but about excessive force in apprehending a fleeing felon.

They knew the suspect was armed as he had already shot at them, he made a motion which indicated he was about to fire on the police. Police should not be prosecuted or "held accountable" for saving their own lives.
