Johns Hopkins Hospital does NOT support our VETS, refuses VA insurance from Veterans

You won't find this in the news.

I can tell you that as a vet who has used Hopkins, they no longer accept VA reimbursement from Vets. Hopkins makes Vets pay out of pocket.

Hopkins does NOT support our veterans.

This tells me it’s crappy insurance. When I practiced there were reimbursements that were so low that I would actually lose money if I treated the patient. I was better off reading a comic book and letting my staff play on Facebook.

That is a good point, but that is not what is happening here.

I went thru the VA patience advocacy. I was eventually sent up the chain of command to the very top. A very kind woman who told me the VA offered full reimbursement to Hopkins, and that she had been fighting a losing battle over this for several years.

So there must be a reason.
Ask 100 questions and the correct answer to 99 of them would be “money”.

Another possibility is that the insurance administration is incompetent. E.g., I quit taking Delta Dental not because of the reimbursement but because they would routinely pay the patient when the benefits were assigned to me. Very few of those patients would pay me back and they’d end up in collections. And you can imagine how little of that I’d get back if at all.

True.

I had a long talk with the head of patient advocacy, she sounded very sincere. I know it's anecdotal.

Free dental work AND a Cash Prize.

Aren't you the generous one. :)

Tricare only covers about 20% of total veterans. Definitely not you.

Johns Hopkins is virtue signaling. Doing the minimum amount they can get away with, without getting creamed by the media.

Are your medical needs military connected?

Thank you for asking, but this is not about me or you.

It is about the 80% of Vets whose VA insurance Hopkins refuses to take.

The way Hopkins treats the majority of Vets needs to be exposed.

All hospital should have to accept VA assignments

VA is not known for it's reimbursement rates.
You have Congress to thank.

I'm sure you can find examples of slow pay even in the "private" sector.

There are lots of small private practices that accept VA insurance. I think the great , saintly Hopkins can step up to the plate for all of our vets.
