Trump lies, have they finally ended him?

Id like to see Trump prosecuted, but I think its likely not to happen.

Its very hard to justify prosecuting a former president, in the end it is a no win situation.

The majority of the Republican party would be happy to see Trump gone, and they would move on to a softer Ron DeSantis.

Trumps brand has always been, say whatever it takes to get what you want. Lie and get away with it all day long, has it finally caught up to him?

I think he is done! Even the craziest of Trumppies on this site are no longer screaming daily that he will be reinstated or win in 2024. These hearings are likely the final blow. The party will distance from him quietly and slowly and move on to DeSantis or Cruz or someone like that. They should go with someone like Nikki Haley, but they wont.

Its what Republicans do, they support a very seriously flawed candidate and watch him slowly implode or in Trumps case explode, then they move on to a new seriously flawed candidate. They did it with Bush I, they did it with Bush II and they are in the very public way with Trump. Already, as I have said would happen, many of them are disavowing him or saying they never really liked him. No matter what, their next false God "Golden Calf" will be less of an obvious liar, less of a mental case, but maybe more fascist and more manipulative, I hope just as poor of a straightest.

Ron isn’t softer, but he’s more intelligent than Trump. He’s worked very hard to set himself up as a Trump clone, hopefully l, unlike Trump, he respects our system a little better, but what Ive seen from Florida, I hold no hope for that.

I am extremely skeptical an ex-president will ever be indicted for a felony.

Trump is a symptom of the sickness in the Republican party. The disease of facsism, racism, and xenophobia will remain even after Trump is gone.

Pat Buchanan nearly unseated a sitting president in 1992, and he showed us the dark of the Republican party, which most of us politely ignored for decades.

I do not know what you mean. Are you saying a President cannot commit a crime? That goes against our Constitution.

No, Trump clearly at least committed conspiracy crimes. And a president can commit Crimes, and be indicted, but he cant be prosecuted until removed.

Its politically touchy, because the president has a party that will not go against him and the petulance and silliness of our parties causes retribution from the party that senses they have been aggrieved. It is still happening as a result of Watergate, one of the biggest reasons insiders at the Republican party particularly hated Hillary was because she worked on the Watergate committee and refused to play along to get along. There are still bruised egos in the Republican party over watergate and they are still working on revenge. Justice Cavanaugh has expressed his hatred for "the Bitch" as a result of her work on Watergate.

If we prosecute Trump for his clear crimes, a very powerful group of American bureaucracy will desperately work to have Biden prosecuted for something, anything, just to get even.

He is softer, in that he does not yell and insult disabled people, for example.

I wouldn't put it past Biden to issue a pardon if it ever gets that far, as a sort of olive branch to Republicans, even though they don't deserve it at all.

Either that, or we get a patsy like Oliver North to take the heat, then they go on to be a future regular on Fox. I could see Navarro doing that.

This type of aggressive tit for tat harms our nation.

I agree Trump committed crimes, but many do not and never will accept that, so they will make up stuff up about future presidents to weaken them and try to prosecute them. It weakens America.

No, but he insults others and has been affiliated with bigoted groups. He also bullied high school students for wearing masks. There are many instances where he acts like Trump.

Stir up your courage. I'll defend you if Trump calls you a big bad meanie.

I do not care if Trump calls me anything, in fact I would wear it as a badge of courage. It would be something to be proud about, but those who will seek revenge at a cost to America concern me.

There is an argument for letting him go quietly into the night. Render him powerless and move on.

Already would be Republican presidents have noticed that he was fired by the American people and that he is in the one term loser club.

Sick of hearing from dems they're too scared to do what is right. I completely disagree with you.

Yup, just less Trumpian, not un-Trumpian.

Let the only attempt to overthrow the government pass by. It sickens me that you believe that.
