Well, I am a student of history bub, and let me tell you this.

What were we talking about?

Oh, yeah.. Watergate.. I'm not googling it but my recollection was that it went on for a few years.. the investigation.. and many or most Republicans dug in their heels.. for months, years.. until the tapes.

After the tapes one of the Senators.. I don't remember which one told Nixon, he'd lost Republican support and if he didn't resign, he'd be impeached and convicted by congress.

So he had to resign.

So that's the difference between the Republicans of yesterday and what their party has been perverted to. No Republican would even allow witnesses at twumps impeachment.

Republicans have become the 2022 Nazi party.

Exactly. But. In 2022 we also presented "the tapes" the "tapes" being all the video confessions from twump's crime family that they all knew, which means HE knew he'd lost the election. The "tapes" also include the testemony of that female cop.. OMG.. she was amazing.. and what she went through for hours, compared to the Uvalde cops who would have removed the barricades and welcomed the Nazis in.

But I digress.

I suppose they COULD have gotten away with it, even WITH the tapes if the Republicans then were like the Republicans of today. Mitch McConnel, Ted Cruz, McCarthy, et al would have no problem calling the tapes fake and part of a partisan witch hunt.

I guess the closest comparison to the Watergate tapes to 1/6 are all the texts to Meadows from like..
