A reporter in the press pool following Biden asked the president for his thoughts about the nationwide average price of gas exceeding $5 per gallon. Biden deferred blame to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

The president then proceeded to emphasize the government's decision to tap into U.S. oil reserves.

"We're trying very hard to make sure we can significantly increase the amount of barrels of oil that are be pumped out of the reserve we have," he added.

We get lied to constantly. I am wondering why our oil reserve is being eliminated. I have said before that it appears that China is already running the place.
 
I was reading that because the reserve is being pumped down so fast there is a glut of crude around the Gulf, there is more oil than the refineries can deal with, it is the lack of refinery capacity that is the big problem.
