The Hospital shooting gives us three AR style weapons in a row massacring Americans,

No. I am saying the current court and the current Republicans in Congress are against any attempt to restrict who can own or carry guns. That means they would oppose requiring mental health checks which might identify those that don't live in reality. Half the people posting here could be classified as not living in reality and then the only question is whether they are a danger to themselves or others. Not a line the Republicans want to even get close to.

Agreed. It's a dog and pony show with that "multi-partisan" group. It's a smoke screen to try to keep the masses from storming the gates while the Republican Taliban and their gun lobby partners plot their next ugly move.

Agreed on the present Republican climate...just like for the past 30ish years. Non sequitur, dude, but I agree their inclination is to "Just say NO!" as Nancy Reagan advised.

My point is that, if butting heads isn't working, time to change tactics...unless that's their intention.

The Republicans are already on record supporting better mental health care. The Democrats go for the jugular with "only for gun owners" including the financial penalty of paying for it instead of going for a smaller win; a bump in Federal school funding focusing upon nurses and mental health screening, including the assets to address issues.

The Feds only supply 8% of school funding, IIRC. Aren't our kids worth at least 10% or 15%?

Wow. You and the Trumpers have a lot in common. The same tactics and the same goals; divide and conquer.

I know. We're smart that way. Have you looked under your bed lately unk? There might be some Jews!
The only thing under my bed are dust bunnies.

Is your name legion around the bars and bathhouses of San Francisco? Down by the Waterfront?

Hmm, they could be trainable. Don't try it with your kitty, though. :D

Btw, did you see this? More info on the nature-nurture argument.

Psychopathic individuals are more likely to have larger striatum region in the brain

Neuroscientists from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore), University of Pennsylvania, and California State University, have established the existence of a biological difference between psychopaths and non-psychopaths.

Using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, they found that a region of the forebrain known as the striatum, was on average ten per cent larger in psychopathic individuals compared to a control group of individuals that had low or no psychopathic traits.

An excellent reason why more research needs to be done in this area.

With the cat I just push him around on the floor with my foot. The fucker is getting lazy in his old age. ;)

I am not a rightie you stupid fuck.
She admitted she has two guns.
I don't remember what type.

Spare us all the faux denials. You're an intellectually dishonest coward, as your history on this board has shown. You shift your rhetoric as you see fit.
Proof, you blithering bumpkin! Not more of your useless opinions and declarations. Answer the questions based on ALL of your previous assertions, because being a gun owner while advocating for gun control on assault weapons DOES NOT automatically make one a hypocrite. If you can't, GTFU and just concede you were wrong.

Also, you might want to enlighten the reading audience as to the number of mass shootings where the cops had a similar situation and acting as the Uvalde cops did.

If you can't, then you're just pulling more garbage out of the LaPierre handbook.

The first, of course was Columbine when the police waited almost an hour.
There have been others but I am not your bitch.

:palm: I do wish you would educate yourself before parroting gun lobby flunky fables. For your education: https://extras.denverpost.com/news/col0516a.htm

You're not my bitch, but you are one stupid bitch. Carry on.
