I graduated high school in 2007. During that time, we had at least a dozen bomb scares. Whenever someone called one in, the entire school was led outside to the football field and the K-9 unit was brought in.
I always feared that a shooter would call in a bomb scare and we'd be sitting ducks in his rifle scope.
The thread has gotten off track so I'll give an answer to the question that opened it.
We can be sure it's not worth it to the kids. They would be happier with the free and open schools we enjoyed. But it's worth it us, right? It's worth it to our dim conception of The Constitution we never looked into that closely.

it is a shame so many liberal leaders chose to take discipline out of the school. I brought a rifle or shotgun every day to high school, they never left my vehicle. That was back when a teacher was no different than a parent and there were consequences for bad behavior. All it would take is to start hold parents accountable for the bullshit their kids do and this shit would stop. Imagine what we would have if liberals didn't murder 2 million kids per year
