When there are conflicts between cognitions people will take steps to reduce the dissonance and feelings of discomfort.

They could also have breeched the door. There had to be some kind of tool or heavy object within a 1 mile diameter they could have used. They actually chose NOT to breach the door. I'm so overcome with anger about this. How could people be so cowardly and selfish? OMG!

My Sympathy goes out to all the innocent people in America that has lost loved ones due to gun violence, assault weapons, and mass shootings- And the millions of school age children that now fear to just go to school, and the minorities and their families, that are killed in hate crimes.

I FEEL SORRY FOR ALL OF US and our reputation to the rest of the world as being HATEFUL IRRESPONSIBLE GUN ENTHUSIASTS who value our guns more than we do innocent human life- THAT IS ALREADY OUT OF THE WOMB!

Haven't read the thread yet, but it looks like a teacher propped the locked door open. Probably outside having a cigarette.

It seems that the doors are typically locked.

There were MANY more factors more serious that a propped open door. Many more severe failures including cowardice and a total lack of duty.
