GOP talking point: if you oppose SCOTUS decision, you're against democracy

was there a mutually consensual decision to engage in sexual activity that could result in pregnancy? if not, then the state legislature has the authority to authorize that termination.

Correct.

A victim of rape is akin to a person forced to commit a crime.

They are not responsible for that crime or its results.

semantics...............why do you wish to play that stupid game?

I'm not playing a stupid game, you are.

No, you really aren't. If you were, you wouldn't make contradicting arguments lacking any facts or substance while emoting like a dumb leftist. :palm:

You're just angry that your argument failed once you realize that everyone is aware about the double homicide.

If men had to fight for their rights like women do, the country would just be a pile of smoldering ashes at this point.

Men and women have fought and died for our Constitutional Republic and the rights enumerated in the Constitution, of which the right to abortion is not included.

we are people living in a world populated with people............of course it's a problem.............

I guess I'm more practical. For starters, we have too many people. I don't think a clump of cells w/ no consciousness has the same rights as a citizen (I get that this is just my take, but I simply don't look at it that way). I have said that it gets more murky as time goes on. I don't think women decide to have a baby when they have sex. And I think there are a lot of circumstances where they do NOT decide, but would be forced to carry to term if abortion was banned.

Clearly, we disagree on most of this. My experience with abortion discussions is that they don't really go anywhere, because everyone has personal feelings on it that are pretty entrenched.

I'm bailing for the day, but wanted to say that I appreciate the civil discourse on the topic. It's rare here. Even though these discussions don't go anywhere, I like engaging in them, and learn from them.

we are you still fighting against consent of the governed?

why can't citizens of Alabama govern as they see fit - why do you have to be an authoritarian here?

you're splitting hairs and ignoring my words. I never said that women DECIDE to have a baby when they DECIDE to have sex. I said that they KNOW there is a possibility when they decide. I also don't believe rape victims should be forced to carry to term.

I thank you for the civil discourse. see you tomorrow

Wrong. Being pregnant is being with a baby, not child.

Semantic disputes are not genuine disputes at all

Semantic disputes can result in the logical fallacy of equivocation. In politics, for example, semantic disputes can involve the meaning of words such as liberal, democrat,
