We don't have the same goals, five wealthy families lead by Carlos Slim run the entirety of Mexico, their President is a figure head, stopping the cartels or ending illegal crossings into the US is not in their interests which is why the only way to stop them is to hurt them in the wallet through slow downs of commercial trucking through all ports of entry.

there may be those undercurrents ( and those are certainly valid points) but the OFFICIAL Mexican government position is war against the cartels, and stopping illegal migration thru Mexico

you make very good points though about how corrupt the government is

The fact is they are clearly not droning their meth, cocaine and fentanyl labs, so the US should do them a favour. As to the US, I don't know why either, corruption I imagine, isn't that the American way? It is after all, the land of the freebie and the home of the depraved.
