11 years ago today, America was in a better place. We (mostly) came together to celebrate the end of Osama Bin Laden.

After a decade long international manhunt American forces killed the al-Qaeda leader at his compound in Pakistan. No Americans were injured.

"Justice has been done", said President Barak Obama.

you do realize Biden opposed the raid to kill OBL?

I wrote "Biden" -not Obama

Okay, so President Obama ordered the successful raid that finally got Bin Ladin.

What I remember Republicans saying at the time is that Obama was a terrorist sympathizer who would rather drink green tea with terrorists and apologize to them, than to kill them.

Typical Putinist half-truths meaning lies.

Yes, Biden advised against it until OBL's presence was confirmed. May all your neighbors find out the truth about you, Dookie.

Biden has said that during group discussion of whether to order the raid, he advised Obama to take more time, saying: “Don’t go.” He has also said he subsequently told Obama to “follow your instincts”.

In his memoir, Obama echoes the accounts of other senior aides present in the White House Situation Room nine years ago who have said Biden counselled caution.

Like the defense secretary, Robert Gates, Obama writes, Biden was concerned about “the enormous consequences of failure” and counselled that the president “should defer any decision until the intelligence community was more certain that bin Laden was in the compound”.

There are several types of lies. Dookie prefers The Lies of Partial Truths.

Correct but Biden did his job as VP and advised against it until OBL's presence was confirmed by hard intel.

I have no idea of the rhetoric, but it was just that
The criticism of Obama was mostly his "apology tour" - which was weird as he armed the Syrian rebels and regime changed Qadaffi

Biden hesitated on OBL, and then jumped out of Afghan with no plan other then the embassy was the last stand -which was a stupid decision as well

do you have any idea about INTEL being "fresh? this was OBL -there was no higher level target
He told Obama to go with his instincts and Biden's were to wait.

Your party's leader let Osama get away at Tora Bora in 2001 when we literally had him cornered.

Dookie, this isn't the first time you've been caught red-handed telling lies. Tell Putin his agents need more training.

The Three Types of Lies
The three most commonly referred to are lies of commission, lies of omission, and lies of influence, aka character lies.

Although the diversion of US troops to Iraq in 2003 effectively prolonged the Afghan War** and I remember the battle of Tora Bora, I'm less certain that OBL was allowed to get away.

**Afghanistan was, IMO, a "just war" whereas the invasion of Iraq was not.

Biden made the right call on both Afghanistan and Ukraine.

You wanted to stay in Afghanistan, and you wanted to leave Ukraine to fend for itself against the Russian onslaught. Those are two consecutive bad choices.

.Biden was right both times. We spent 20 in Afghanistan, and that was more than enough time. We absolutely should help Ukraine defend itself against Invasion and the worst war crimes since WW2

First off Im not a Republican
though I am against virtaully all the CRAP the Dems have done to fuck up the country.

2nd I despise Bush as an idiot war monger -so dont lay that on me

But persuing OBL into Tora Bora was a recipe to get killed. it's a cave complex -perfect for ambushes

Anyway Trump took care of Tora Bora with a Mother of All Bombs -problem solved

of course I wanted out of Afghan -so did Trump
Trump got us down from 12k to 2.5 k without an American KIA

It's the operational withdrawal turned into a chaotic EVAC that is the criticism.
We had an orderly path out thru Baghram

Going to war with Russia over Uk is the ultimate "bad choice" -a result of other "bad choices"
like turning Uk into a defacto NATO state, and refusing to negotiate with Russia

Maybe Obama didn't have any more use for them. Maybe he felt that killing Bin Laden would somehow garner more support for the Left. I mean you've got to admit that it's odd how the mindless barbarism seemed to stop cold after Seal Team 6 did its thing.
