I would have to disagree with you there. Chris Rock said something hurtful and it doesn't matter the color of his skin. The alleged assault might be wrong, but he provoked that kind of reaction. Not much different from joking to a father about his daughter who has cancer. You just don't joke about things like that unless you're a close family/friend.
If Chris Rock stood up in a restaurant, looked over at the poisonous Jada and cracked the joke, then I agree that would have been inappropriate. Still not cause for Will assaulting him, but more understandable.
This was a fucking awards show during an entertainment act where all the comedians are taking shots at the attendees. Why is Will Smith the only one allowed to not only take offense, but assault another human being?

OTOH, it's of interest to me to dig deeper than skin deep....which is all the racists are doing.
This isn't about race relations or what constitutes a disability. This is about a husband who was enjoying the show and then, like flipping a switch, suddenly assaulting the host onstage.
Who, besides Will Smith, has done that at the Oscars? Any major Hollywood awards show? Is it because, like the RW racists say, because he's black? Or is it because, like the LW racists say, because he's black? Or is it because it has nothing to do with race, but about a fucked up marriage? I think it's the latter.

Agreed. They've been married since 1997, but something is seriously wrong in their marriage. They have the assets to get help but since they haven't, it tells me one or both aren't interested in changing the status quo. Given the behavior at the Oscars, I believe the toxicity is coming from Jada Pinkett Smith and Will should save himself.
