Zelensky asks Russian soldiers: "Why should you die?"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke directly to Russian soldiers in a video message uploaded to Telegram early Tuesday morning local time

"Russian conscripts! Listen to me very carefully. Russian officers! You’ve already understood everything. You will not take anything from Ukraine. You will take lives. There are a lot of you. But your life will also be taken," the President said. “But why should you die? What for? I know that you want to survive."

"We hear what you really think about this senseless war, about this disgrace, and about your state. Your conversations with each other. Your calls home to your family. We hear it all. We draw conclusions. We know who you are," he said.

"On behalf of the Ukrainian people, I give you a chance. Chance to survive. If you surrender to our forces, we will treat you the way people are supposed to be treated. As people, decently. In a way, you were not treated in your army. And in a way, your army does not treat ours. Choose!" Zelensky said.

After the Russian army surrenders, the next obvious steps are to open war crimes investigations against Putin, and a discussion of war reparations to compensate for Vlad's destruction of a modern European nation.

Those would go a lot better for the Russian people if they capped Putin and returned their nation to democracy.

Zelensky skillfully knows how to use the power of defiance in the realm of political leadership.

It was only two weeks ago the pro-Putin contingent on this board was demanding Ukraine run up the white flag of surrender, and submit to the illegal Invaders.

He's doing an excellent job leading the Ukrainians through this attack by Putin's Russia.

The world is becoming a HUGE fan of Zelenskyy!

What they guy. He just makes so much sense.

Russia should surrender the entire country and make Zelenskyy president of Russia. Get rid of that old corrupt stick in the mud Putin and bring some real leadership to Russia.

Nearly all Russian advances in Ukraine remain stalled due in part to “creative” strikes from the Ukrainians limiting the ability of Kremlin forces to resupply, a senior U.S. defense official said Monday.

The Ukrainians “have effectively struck at the Russian logistics and sustainment capabilities,” the official told reporters.

“As we’ve said all along, they’ve been quite creative here. They’re not simply going after combat capability — tanks and armored vehicles and shooting down aircraft. Although they’re doing all that, they are also deliberately trying to impede and prevent the Russians’ ability to sustain themselves.”

The official also said “almost all of Russia's advances remain stalled” on the ground in Ukraine, with forces moving toward Kyiv showing no “appreciable change in their progress over the weekend.”

Zelensky is not a citizen of the US, dumbass.

If anything, I hope the Ukrainians hold the Russian army back 300-style. Stack their bodies for barricades. Let them leave if they want to go peacefully.

Kinda hard to have a 300-type scenario with no choke points, though.

One of Putin's biggest blunders was assuming many/most Ukranians would welcome him as a liberator, and he underestimated the willingness of the Ukrainian armed forces to resist.
