9000 unused leases on Federal land.

A big part of the problem is there is a shortage of oil drilling rigs, and scheduling one takes time. Biden fucked this away for the US industry through his policies making it clear he didn't want new drilling. So, the energy companies went elsewhere to drill. That means the drilling rigs went elsewhere too. Until they're done wherever they are, they aren't coming back to the US until they're on the schedule to do so.
Your evidence of them going elsewhere is what? If they were going elsewhere to drill why is the international production not up by a larger percentage than US production? If all those rigs went elsewhere then why is the current rig count in the US 65% higher https://rigcount.bakerhughes.com/na-rig-count

This story is about drilling problems in India in 2006. It has nothing to do with drilling on Federal lands in 2022.

This story is about projected drilling shortages in 2012 in the Mideast. It has nothing to do with drilling on Federal lands in 2022.

The highest rig count in 2 years and yet you want to argue they don't have enough rigs because they went elsewhere? It seems you didn't read any of the articles you posted.
So, just because you have permits doesn't equate to instantly being able to drill. Also, a federal policy that discourages drilling for months, then drilling months later sends the whole industry into chaos and uncertainty. That's Joke's fault and it's because the shithead is listening to the retarded idiots on the radical Left who think--I use that term loosely--that sunshine and whirligigs can power the world when it's fully apparent now that's total bullshit.
Not having enough rigs does not equate to not having permits which is the false claim that is being made here. If there are 9,173 permits to drill and only 663 rigs, is the problem that there are not enough permits? or the actual problem that there aren't enough rigs even though we have more rigs than any time in the last 2 years?

Why was the rig count higher when oil was around $50 a barrel when Trump was in office.

When Trump took office rig count was 683 and later it peaked at 1077 in 2018 bent crude was $57.36 per barrel . Now the rig count is around 660 and bent crude is over $100.

https://www.eia.gov/dnav/ng/hist/e_ertrr0_xr0_nus_cm.htm

Why was the rig count only 400 when Trump left office? It looks like Trump destroyed oil drilling just like he destroyed the economy.

Can't you read? They need permits to build pipelines from the wellhead to a central point of collection. So a drilling permit is useless if you can't build a pipeline to ship the oil to market. No one is going to invest in drilling an oil well permit unless they have a permit to build a pipeline to ship the oil or gas.

I can read. This is what you said:

The government is dragging their feet on the permits need to drill on leases on Federal lands

Either you are too stupid to know what a permit to drill is or you are now moving the goalposts because you know your original claim was false on several counts.
1. False when you claimed it was 9,000 leases since it's actually 9,000 permits.
2. False when you claimed the government is dragging their feet on permits to drill since there are currently over 9,000 permits to drill approved and the Federal government is approving almost all of them within 90 days.

Bullshit!

Why would the oil industry not drill on those lands.\? Why wouldn't they not want to suck $120 a barrel out of the ground on those leases. In west Texas if you own a lease in the Permian Basin formation you can obtain permits to drill in about 10 days. In New Mexico in the same Permian Basin formation it takes approximately 10 months to get permits. And permits have had to be resubmit because the wrong gender pronouns ere used. The difference is caused by the fact that the Permian basin in Texas is on private lands and on Federal land in New Mexico. The government is dragging their feet on the permits need to drill on leases on Federal lands. To oil producers time is money. The government is making it very hard to drill on the 9000 undrilled leases.

Where's your link, or did you pick this number out of your hat??????????????

Lie

Yep EVs require lots of products that are made of petroleum products. I have no problems going to EVs but the process should be slow and orderly. It shouldn't be chaotic like our withdrawal from Afghanistan.

the primary raw material for EV batteries is lithium. do some research and learn where lithium comes from and how it is mined. Then get back to us. While checking that how about checking on the cost to recharge an EV, the cost to install a charging station in your garage, and explain why california has banned overnight charging due to grid overload. EV's are NOT the answer.

Oil companies can thrive at $50 a barrel oil. The government needs to approve oil companies permits to drill and stop harassing them by slow walking the approval process.
Yes. There is no reason for oversight, when there is billion$ to be made on Wall St.

Publishing that meme shows what an idiot you are. Keystone Pipeline is up and running. It does not supply oil to the domestic markets.

NO, it is not, its not even completed. Where do you get this shit?

Look it up, its a proposed fourth addition that was proposed and killed, Keystone I, the addition Keystone II and the addition III area all three up and running.

why are you pretending that the proposed shorter and faster route was built........you are referring to the old line which was to be replaced.......

I did not say a proposed shorter or faster route was built, your reading comprehension is terrible. Your useful idiots believe it was built then shutdown and that gas prices went up overnight because of Biden.

prove it. show us how many drilling permits have been approved in the last year. Or you could STFU and stop lying on the internet
No need. It's a strawman. It's complete and utter nonsense. Oil companies have been avoiding Fed leases for decades because they have to actually abide by common sense guidelines.

140 days is too long to wait to get a permit? American oil companies have been refusing to drill in order to drive prices up.

Strawman. Nonsense. So you are now free to STFU, after you tell us why regulations are not needed in the industry.
