Russian forces have taken control of the city of Kherson, the Russian army claims, in what would be the first city of significance to fall to Vladimir Putin's invasion.
"The Russian divisions of the armed forces have taken the regional centre of Kherson under full control," Igor Konashenkov, a defence ministry spokesman, said in televised remarks.
Kherson is a Black Sea port city located in Ukraine's south, close to Russian-annexed Crimea.

In other news, the Finnish parliament is to discuss joining NATO. A majority of Finns now support NATO membership for the first time ever. I wonder why?
