everything the government runs is bankrupt

people need to pay more attention to this guy.

There is probably no greater collective group of idiots in this country then "The Government can't do anything right" crowd. The US government is the most affective and efficient government governing a free people in the world and we do that with the lowest level of taxation per capita of any large nation on this planet.

I take great pride that my nation has the best ran government in the world!

Ya'll need to learn to quit your bitching and either lead, follow or get out of the way.

Let me see... a 10 Trillion dollar debt, constantly increasing even in the good times and even when there is a projected surplus...

Yeah, bankrupt would be what they would be described as if it were a company.

And if we were a company we would go the way of GM and Chrysler. We already get bailouts from China. I'm just waiting for Fiat to buy us.

Yeah, bankrupt would be what they would be described as if it were a company.

Let's not forget the fact that the people that put them there are saving nothing and up to their necks in credit card debt. It's easy to blame the big, bad, government for our own faults.
Does anybody remember with the Iraq War tax cuts, that our patriotic obligation was to spend more?

And why don't we balance the budget? Because the irrational "Government can't do anything right" crowd insist upon having a high level of quality government services while not wanting to pay for those services. It's completely irrational.

I imagine you also think your local DMV office is a well run establishment.

I saw this in the LA Times this morning, this little quote made me laugh. They were talking to a car dealer about the Cash For Clunkers program.

Hitchcock said he had submitted claims for about $1.3 million in clunker reimbursements but had yet to receive a dime from the government.

"I agree with the guy who said this is the most successful, worst-run program ever," he said.

WTF are you smoking, because topspin would like a bunch of it.

I would bet that the Feds will send his money faster than he pays his bills.
I would rather have a $1.3 million receivable, due from an entity that has never defaulted, than several times that amount in slow moving inventory sitting on the lot. You?

you've never had the gov owe you alot of money due to a mistake on their part have you?

What was the mistake? Didn't they add the additional funds just last week?
The fact remains, the government has never defaulted and the dealer has several times $1.3 million dollars of inventory off of his lot that might still be there except for the program. That's gratitude for ya'.

The only time I was due gov. checks was in the service and tax refunds/rebates. So far they're at 100%.

Yeah, bankrupt would be what they would be described as if it were a company.

If a company had 14.4 trillion dollars in revenue every year, then no, 10 trillion would not bankrupt it.

Idiot.

Which doesn't change the reality of what I write one iota.

The company doesn't. It outspends its revenue every single year, every one of them since Kennedy took office.

You keep signing your post with "idiot", and it is very descriptive but not an effective debating technique.

If you read the article, the dealerships are complaining at the end of it about the program working so darn well they're all out of cars to sell people.

If I outspent my revenue by 1 dollar every year, how long would it be until I went bankrupt?
