You should at least try reading an econ book before commenting on it. You MIGHT look less stupid.
 
Why should anyone take right-wingers seriously about the economics of Capitalism? Socialism on a national and even inter-national basis is what they always seem to prefer.

My problem is not with capitalism. I am a capitalist...often mention that I may be the only one here who actually worked on The Street.

But we are battering it (capitalism) here in America...taking it to its illogical conclusion. Treating it the way we are will, in my opinion, inevitably lead to its annihilation. That would not be good, because one of its components (free enterprise) is essential.

I suggest that capitalism can work...and still pay lots LOTS of people NOT TO WORK. In fact, paying many people not to work will almost certainly lead to increased productivity. There are many, many people who help productivity best...by staying the hell out of the way. And with the kind of technology currently available, humans giving over jobs to more efficient machines is the smart thing to do. So, we are left with the problem...what to do with the people willing not to work. We can let 'em starve to death and freeze to death...or we can use the increased productivity to provide them with the wherewithal necessary for a decent life.

If you could make that particular decision, which would you choose?

Regardless of skill level, or time at a specific job, everyone just gets the same? Just say Socialism instead of dancing around! From each according to their ability, to each according to their need!

Who pays the people not to work? The Government? The government has no money that they didn't take from someone else! So tax payers, screw that!

Government is social-ism. We already have the legal and physical social infrastructure why not use it as a means of production to help lower the Cost of Government?

More people could be paying general taxes for the general welfare.

Wouldn't get many volunteers for the job of "not working" that way. And one thing ya need is plenty of volunteers.
