Why can't people have guns around the President of the United States?

Surely no one can think of any sane reason why carrying guns around the president shouldn't be allowed, could they?

Of course everyone can see the real motivation behind such a rule .. racism. It's racist not to allow people to carry guns around the President of the United States and that can be proven by the knowledge that people have always been able to carry guns around the President of the United States .. until Obama got elected.
 
I was really tickled with the suggestion that with so many lawyers out there, surely they could get some kind of injuction to remove the guy.

this video shows some big union thug attempting to intimidate and harass some Healthcare reform protesters and gets in the face of somebody, but wisely moves on to the next person. That's because that first person he approached was the guy open carrying a 9mm.

I don't believe you. If the president had no ability to remove him, then the town hall should have been canceled.

It's irrelevant whether or not he's standing on private property. Oswald was standing on private property.

at the time, it was very relevant. having permission to be on the churchs private property exempted him from the gun free school zones act.

I'm just taken aback that they allowed the president to speak in a venue that wasn't checked for weapons. If there is no legal way to remove him, the meeting should have been canceled. I don't see how the secret service could have allowed this; maybe he wasn't in the line of site of the president?
