Border Patrol Chasing Haitian Refugees On Horseback

Haitians now in Del Rio were “living a pretty good life [in South America] but they are seeing an opportunity to improve their situation,” he says.

“They say they heard Joe Biden was opening the border up so they came.”

Quite logically, these Haitians — who all have cellphones with social media access — took up Biden’s offer.

By last week, border agents in Del Rio were swamped.
So the Biden administration did what it does best: suppress the bad news.

Last week, the Federal Aviation Administration tried grounding the camera drone Fox News was using to inform its viewers about the disaster under the Del Rio bridge.
But intrepid Fox reporter Bill Melugin just hitched a ride on a helicopter with Texas troopers to film the scene.
Then he hired a boat to film the migrants streaming across at a rate of hundreds per hour.
Finally, the FAA relented and let the Fox drone fly.

By then, it was too late to bury the story because even Bidenfriendly media, such as the New York Times and CNN, had come to Del Rio.

So Plan B was to play tough.

The announcement came on Saturday. The Department of Homeland Security was going to fly all the Haitians back to Haiti starting at 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Sigh of relief. Crisis averted.

But not so fast. That’s not exactly what happened.

According to Bensman and other reporters in Del Rio, Haitians who are eligible for asylum (how long is a piece of string?) are being quietly placed in unmarked buses and onto planes and dispersed to other parts of the United States under a cloak of extreme secrecy.

“What’s happening is real-time threats,” Del Rio’s Democratic mayor, Bruno Lozano, said in a video appeal last week, begging Biden and “border tsar” Vice President Kamala Harris to rescue his town from invasion. He fears COVID-19 and other communicable diseases as well as potential terror threats.

Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz held a press conference in Del Rio on Sunday to announce that the situation was under control.

“No one has crossed since midnight,” he said after a dozen Texas Department of Public Safety vehicles were parked across the entry point to temporarily block migrants from using a dam wall to walk across the river.

Ortiz boasted that 3,300 migrants had been moved out from under the bridge since Friday. As of midday Sunday, there were still 12,600 migrants camping there, with another 3,000 to be moved out by Monday.

But where they are being moved to, he didn’t exactly say.

It turns out just 327 were sent back to Haiti on three flights Sunday, according to a DHS spokesperson. They were reportedly all adult single males. The rest of the 3,300 presumably are family groups who will be processed and released.

Jack, I haven't seen any conservative post that more illegals (non-citizens) is a good idea.

Democrats opened the border and stopped the wall building.

Democrats still have their sanctuary cities.

Weren't you one of the alt-lefties screeching we had no business invading Afghanistan?
No, but I can see why a fuck up like yourself desperately wants to believe that's true. You live with alternative facts in a delusional reality.

OTOH, I can back up my claim I supported the attack and invasion of Afghanistan. Care to bet $100 I can? Loser donates the money in the winner's name to JPP?

If $100 is too rich for you, I'm fine with a lower amount that fits your wallet.
Yes and all the far left loons say that.

The bet is open to you too, Earl. Or, if you want to prove your intelligence post an example of your claim.

If you can't, then everyone will know you are mi piquito pendejo. :)

The United States needs Immigration Reform to stop this bullshit. The people with money like the indentured servitude illegal workers bring.

Only if enough Americans can stand up and say "Enough!" will this bullshit move toward stopping.

Your solution requires Congress to act -they dont do that anymore.
They dont hold hearings muchless offer legislation..instead one or two gigantimous Omnibus porkulus
are subject to up and down vote per year

If you want immigration reform it has to be piecemeal;
we know Congress cant agree on comprehensive immigration reform

First thing to do is get border security - it's an exigent critical situation, that would also get Republicans onboard, because they wont until border security is assured, and we've seen Biden ignore immigration law with his "processing" into the interior

Dems will support anything that has a path to legalization. That might get the ball moving

Images of mostly white border patrol agents chasing down Haitian refugees recalls horrendous memories of mounted police charging into civil rights demonstrators in Selma Alabama in the 1960s.

What ugly optics!

They are foreign invaders, not black Alabama Americans.

If they get in, it hurts black Alabama Americans.

Agreed on Congress. They are only interested in party politics, not what is good for the nation.

Piecemeal is a start.

We already have border security. The single-line-of-defense is stupid as Patton alluded. Chess players know a Stone Wall is an excellent opening for beginners, but fails miserably against experienced players.

The best defense is, indeed, an offense, but the homeland still needs to be defended. Better than a single-line on a single border is a legislative defense in-depth that covers the entire United States by removing the incentives for people to illegally enter the United States.

Example:

1. Every business owner is required to run employees through state/federal system to verify eligibility for employment. Several companies already do that per federal law such as the airlines and cargo transportation industry. Anyone who tries to cheat the system gets an automatic 6 months in jail for a first offense.

2. Every real estate agent, renter, homeowner or anyone else selling or renting property to another must also run the person through the eligibility system. Same sentencing guidelines for violators.

It's a lot easier to round up a few bosses and renters for prison than it is to chase illegals around the country. The greatest hindrance to illegal immigration in the past 30 years was the Great Recession. Why? No jobs, no illegals trying to get one.

No jobs for illegals. Make it a crime to give an illegal a job, throw some violators in prison and the jobs will dry up across the country. No jobs, and the illegals don't arrive or self-deport. Same goes for those who can't find a place to live. They'll turn themselves in for a free ride home.

Yes, but for the time being, with 15,000 on our border, it’s all we’ve got!

...and more every day.

Basic First Aid is Stop the Bleeding.

While it's financially costly to American taxpayers to continually deport illegals, the cost to the illegals should be considered too. How many are dying enroute? How many are spending every penny they have for a dream that can never come to fruition? It's a waste.

Better, IMO, is to stop why they are leaving Haiti in the first place or find nations in the world who need immigrants. It'd be cheaper for the US to provide global transportation than do keep dealing with this problem. It'd save lives and be cheaper for the immigrants who can arrive in their new land with their money intact.
