No one has said a damn thing about all races not having the same inherent rights. That is something you are attributing to the argument, which doesn't apply... or a strawman. No one has condoned slavery or murder, or claimed it is condoned by religion or belief in God. Again, these are straw men you are throwing up to torch, because you really don't have a suitable counter to what I said.
You can call anything you wish "racist" and it doesn't make it racist. I can sit here and post over and over, that YOU are a RACIST! I can post it in great big letters, highlight it in red and repeat it day in and day out, and it still won't make you something you're not. So why do you insist on doing this to people of religion?
You've not shown us where their belief is conducive with the belief of racial superiority, racial purity, or denial of any rights to any particular race of people. We are to just accept that because you call it "racist" it must be... for thou hath spoken, I guess? Sorry, but you don't get to proclaim what is or isn't racist by your own bigoted prejudiced viewpoint. Thank God!
No, we actually have a working dictionary definition to tell us what racism is, and religious beliefs which do not condone interracial marriage, are not based on anything remotely close to racial purity, racial superiority, or denial of rights. From the Biblical standpoint, it is a position God took because man became too wise. That's from the story in the Bible, and I am not here to argue the validity of the story or whether it has merit, only the point the religious believers make for their viewpoint, and going by what the definition of racism is, that isn't a racist view, it is a religious one.
It's only a "pretty easy one" if you are willing to abandon the definition of racism and proclaim something racist that you clearly don't understand. It is only a "pretty easy one" when you attach your viewpoint to a stereotype and prejudice you've made yourself. If you want to OBJECTIVELY examine it, the question is a lot more complicated. You see, religious beliefs regarding marriage are religious beliefs, they are ordained by God, and the followers merely obey the Word as they interpret it. Nothing about that is racist, nothing about following the teachings of your religion is racist. The actual teaching comes from an instance in the Bible which has nothing to do with racism or belief that one race is superior or inferior to another... absolutely NOTHING, therefore, by definition, it CAN'T be a racist viewpoint. That is not to say that some racists hide behind this as an excuse to oppose interracial marriage, just as some racists hide behind their own interracial marriage to hide their racism. Racists are very clever people.
