She has a long tenure in local NY politics as well as a single term representing NY in Congress. She replaced a sitting Republican with 80% of the vote. She left Congress to be Cuomo's running mate in '14.

I guess not. I have had lunch and attended happy hours with male colleagues present. My husband has done with the same women colleagues, especially so since most of his IT colleagues were female. But neither one of us went out to dinner with an opposite sex colleague one-on-one. Lunch is seen as "safe," dinner is seen more as "date." Women who let their male boss take them out for dinner could easily be seen as encouraging a relationship outside of the office. Appearances are everything. Cuomo behaved badly. From some of the photos shown (like grinning selfies taken with him), it appears that some of the young women may have led him to believe he had a chance to score. Even so, as the boss and as the mature adult, he had the opportunity to resist. He failed.

We have a situation similar in my state, California. Same but without the sex scandal. There is a recall ballot for the Dem governor and the field of contenders is like 50.
So the ballot will be up or down on recall and then a feeding frenzy between the no name candidates to assume his office. A two part ballot. This presents
a unique opportunity for the minority scum party to take over here because no one Dem candidate has galvanized support. So we Dems are aligned to vote no on recall to end any chance of
a Repuke.

Yes. He's the president of the state. He has more power than the POTUS. He abused his position by making young staffers uncomfortable. These kids aspire to careers in the Capitol of the state. They shouldn't have to put up with this.

Ah, I see. Let's put it this way. You and I have both seen the disgusting slurs flung at VP Harris due to her long-ago relationship with a man who was her work superior. "Slept her way to the top" is the nicer of the insults. Like it or not there is still a difference, a double standard even, between the perception of a male-male boss dinner outside-of-work and a female-male boss dinner. This is always a complicated subject for me. I have never been a member of a political party. I don't have any love lost for any of them, but the Republicans, especially in the past five years, have become the human embodiment of evil. I say that without exaggeration.

They also, for longer than the past five years, have used the most diabolical and most disgusting political tricks imaginable to subvert democracy and destroy the country. Democrats have almost always opted to take "the high road". Either because they worry about eventual retribution or because they fear for their immortal souls, they tend not to be as awful to Republicans as Republicans tend to be toward all people.

Charlie Brown and Lucy for sure. It's becoming sickening. Of course, the demographic is much more diverse than the pasty white racist Republican party, so it's hard to pander to everyone at the same time.

Cuomo did those things to those women though. If not all of them, then at least some of them. You would rather have that kind of person lead a state and represent its people than a Republican? Is the (D) next to the person's name really the most important qualifier for holding office. A Republican would certainly do worse than Cuomo, but Cuomo doesn't deserve the position. Accountability matters; and if he wanted to keep his decades long stranglehold on New York politics, he should have kept his hands to himself. He knew he was powerful and thought he could get away with whatever he wanted. That should sound familiar.

We pay the highest taxes in the nation, often supporting the inbreds down south who brag about low cost of living.

NY democrats do not allow children to go hungry, or low income people to go with healthcare. Republicans would stop both programs the moment they are elected.

I agree that Democrats need to wisen up and implant some balls into their empty sacs. I also think that Cuomo's a creep who doesn't deserve the protection of anyone.
