2) Take the single male population over 30 and ask them... they too will tend to show you higher numbers... again this is a moot point. Even if someone slept with 5000 willing partners, that does NOT effect their ability to serve in the military. Whether they are gay or straight.... and if you truly think promiscuity is an automatic out for ability to serve then the majority of military personell are not 'stable'. But you are simply bigotted and thus only want to hold that standard to gay members of the military.

2. So you’re saying that these queers were exaggerating about their exploits, in other words lying? Doesn’t that show bad character as well? Promiscuity plus dishonesty plus unhealthy sexual practices equals bad character.

1. The guys that I have known or met who bragged about such things have all been men of bad character.

What military are you talking about? These are not Boy Scouts. These are men who's job it is to kill the enemy and destroy their ability to fight back.

After they spent however long in the desert or jungle under fire, it is very common for them to blow off steam by getting drunk or getting laid. Its what soldiers have been doing for thousands of years.

They can manage their fear of the enemy and of the difficult things they do.

But the fear that someone will find out about a fundamental part of you and that your own command will destroy your career is a different matter.

Managing the fear of battle can be done. But having to fear being stabbed in the back by your own side is something different.

When my Dad "went out with the boys" while he was in the Army he didn't solicit prostitutes. I think you have a "Hollywood" image of the American soldier that doesn't exist to any great extent.
 
While I wish Obama would do the right thing and make all efforts to intigrate this segment of the population into the military openly.....

What? I don't base my opinion on Hollywood. I base it on 6 years spent in the US Navy. I base it on 2 Med cruises, one North Atlantic NATO exercise/cruise, and one South Atlantic trip where I earned my shellback honors.

As for your Dad, I am sure he was (is?) a great guy and served honorably. But if he did find himself a hooker do you think he would tell his wife & kids about it?
