US First Lady Michelle Obama is not a "great beauty," but will "just get better with age," Iman, one of the first black supermodels, says in a magazine interview.

"Mrs Obama is not a great beauty," the Somali-born model and wife of rocker David Bowie tells Parade magazine's Sunday issue, reflecting on the first black US first lady, who is a lawyer by training and a former executive.

"But she is so interesting looking and so bright. That will always take you farther. When you?re a great beauty, it?s always downhill for you. If you?re someone like Mrs Obama, you just get better with age," she said.

Iman, 53, also told Parade that her rise to catwalk superstardom did not free her from racism.

"You suddenly represent a whole race, and that race goes, ?Well, that person does not represent our ideals of beauty.? For lack of a better term, it becomes what it was like during slavery," she said.

"One had the field nigger and the house nigger. There was this notion that I was chosen by white fashion editors to be better than the rest, which I am not. I did not like being thought of as the house nigger."

well however irrelevant op's post is, it is true that the press has swooned over michelle and called her beautiful, gorgeous, w/e, when it's clear she's probably barely above a 4-5.

Grind, she's got that booty thing goin on. Now there's been more than one first lady with a fatass but this is the first first lady that's a soul sister with a splendiferous booty and though she may be Ivy league educated, I'm sure she can shake that thing like any self respecting south side sister.

Is Michelle a great beauty? Naa, that's hyperbole but you have to admit, her figure sends a powerful sexual message.

Dude, were talking First Lady's here. There's only ever been one truely hot First Lady. I also have to admit, I've always been attracted to the ebony sisters. Better yet, they've been attracted to me. I've always seem to have better luck with hot women who are women of color than white women. That's not a bias on my part either as I'm an equal oppurtunity slut.

Michelle is not beautiful, but she's not ugly. Her 2 worst features are her x-large hips and the shape of her jaw/mouth.

Laura Bush is on the same scale with regards to looks neither a beauty or an ugly woman (though Michelle has had some aweful pictures taken of her). As to class and elegance? Laura Bush is a 10. Michelle Obama has said she admires Laura Bush who came out and defended Michelle when she was being attacked over her comment about finally being able to admire her country.

Are you a lesbian and if you are what's wrong with big hips? Hell I like women who got that bubble butt J.Lo booty thing going on. It's sexy as hell. Granted I don't know to many men who like a big badonkadonk that looks like a droopy old sack of cottage cheese......but that aint what Michelle Obama's got.

But I'm spreaking relatively. Michelle Obama is a very attractive woman for having had two kids and being in her late 40's. I've seen better at her age but mostly I've see a lot worse but as far as first ladies go, she's the most attractive since Jackie Kennedy and the only first lady that was hotter than Jackie Kennedy was Dolly Madison. Laura Bush is an attractive woman to....but let's be honest. Michelle Obama has a real nice ass, Laura....not so much.

Having said that, from a political point of view, this is a "Who Gives a Shit" issue. There both nice ladies. That's all that really counts.

No, I am not a lesbian and what a stupid reply. No one cares that you like hips that have to turn sideways to get through the door...go for it. Michelle Obama is no Jackie-O. Jackie had looks, grace and style. Michelle is a style disaster most of the time and a poser the rest having to let others dress her. Her looks are nothing to write home about, but I would not call her ugly. As to being gracious? It's yet to be seen. I am willing to wait and see.

All president's wives are "dressed" by designers. Besides wanting to look good in their public appearances, they do it to showcase American fashion talent Laura Bush's designer is Michael Faircloth from Dallas.

"His classically styled, made-to-order clothes—which he often customizes with input from his clients—have a loyal fan in Bush, who was introduced to the designer in 1994, after her husband was elected governor of Texas."

Well no one will ever mistake me for a style consultant but I do have quite few friends and co-workers who are brothers and a lot of them prefer their women to be thick with that booty thing goin on. A cultural differance to be sure but it's the underlying theme here that bothers me. There just under handed cheap shots at a politicians wife cause they don't like the politician. I could care less if President Obama has a hot wife or not. That's not why I voted for him. It just might be that he has more important things to do then earn style points with the style crowd by having a fashionable wife, ya know, like cleaning up all of Bush's fuck ups.

You are obviously someone who spends little time with women. We constantly judge one another and comment about clothes, make-up, looks etc. In fact you seem to have missed that it was a female commenting about Michelle that was the basis for this thread. Yeah, you don't know women at all because you either are a pig who does not pay attention to women or you are a bore who never gets noticed by us.

First off NO he doesn't have a hot wife, that is a fact,and I also have friends that prefer there woman thick( don't know why but to each his own) but they also like there thick woman to resemble a female, and a female gorilla doesn't count, lol

AS for Obama being so busy I agree, Pizza parties , hundred dollar steaks Doubling the deficit all takes allot out of a man
